Q5.How did you attract address your audience?

Mise En Scene (Location)This was my chosen location, I really had to get my location correct to make up for my lack of props and this location is what I felt portrayed a Indie/Rock setting. At the time I took my images it was winter therefore it was cloudy and eerie which also added to the Indie atmosphere.

Mise En Scene (Costume)

The costume like the location was very important as I had to portray the genre by these two elements of Mise En Scene to make up for my lack of props. The two images present are my models dressed in their costumes and then the mood board I created before the photo shoot, comparing the two I feel I really stuck to costume ideas I added to my mood board for example the tartan patterns, jean jacket, Dr Martins. This was mainly how I planned to attract my audience.

ModelsMy models attracted my audience as I dressed them up in Indie styled clothing, changed their hair to fit the genre and also done their makeup. I Created different styles of Indie styling for each model as this will attract different audience members as I covered indie styles. One of my models I dressed in a baggy jacket and a skirt with messy curls in her hair this contrasts with my other model which is wearing a baggy jumper has piercings and half of her hair shaved. The last model which I felt really portrayed the indie style was because she was dressed all in black and a bright red tartan shirt tied around her waist.

AudienceThis was how I addressed my audience with the use of Mise En Scene, I chose to address my audience through images as that’s the main thing people first look at when they see a magazine and for girls if they can relate through fashion they may be intrigued to read and for males I have chose different styles for all girls therefore they may be attracted to the people in the main image which will lead to them wanted to read about them this is called using the ‘Male Gaze’
