Legal Sea Foods, Inc. (617-530-9000) will open a Legal Sea Food location in Legacy Place in Dedham, MA this year. The company will also open a 20,000 sq.ft. location at the former site of Jimmy’s Harborside in Boston, MA. The company is also expanding its LTK – Legal Test Kitchen concept in urban trade areas nationwide.

Boloco (617-266-2200) is slated to open three locations in MA, two locations in NH and one in RI this year. The Mexican fast-food restaurants, formerly known as The Wrap, offer burritos and other dishes comprised of fresh ingredients and inspired by dishes from around the world.

Staples, Inc. (508-253-5000) plans to open 75 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada this year, down from last year’s openings of 107. The company currently operates 2,000 office supply stores internationally, including 1,832 units throughout North America.

Verizon Communications, Inc. (212-395-1000) is slated to open a location in a former Hardee’s site located on North Illinois Street in Fairview Heights, IL.

Mango (866-666-4664) will open 150 stores internationally this year and plans to open locations throughout the Boston, MA and New York, NY trade areas. The company currently operates 1,213 ladies apparel stores internationally including 20 throughout the U.S. The company recently opened a flagship store along Broadway in Manhattan, NY.

Shoppers Drug Mart Corp. (416-493-1220) is slated to open five Murale locations throughout Canada this year. The company recently opened a flagship location at Galerie Place Ville Marie in Montreal, Quebec. The beauty concept stores offer brand-name cosmetics including Sensation Choc, Smiley Fragrances, Skin by Monica, Bobbi Brown, Mommy Makeup and Bare Escentuals, as well as skin care products.

Fireman Hospitality Group (212-399-1325) will open a Redeye Grill restaurant and a Bond 45 restaurant at Maryland’s National Harbor, a mixed-use project situated on 350 acres along the Potomac River in Washington D.C. The restaurants will offer American bistro cuisine, and the openings will be the company’s first outside of the New York, NY area.

Ikea U.S., Inc. (610-834-0180) is slated to open a 356,000 sq.ft. IKEA location on 25 acres at the intersection of Interstate 85 and City Boulevard in Charlotte, NC next month. The company will also open a location in Tampa, FL during the summer. The home furnishing stores offer exclusively-designed items, room settings and model home interiors, along with a restaurant. The company currently operates 280 stores internationally including 35 throughout the U.S.

Club Fitness (636-928-0968) is slated to open a location in the second phase of Wood River Commons, a center located at the intersection of IL 143 and Edwardsville Road in Wood River, IL. The tenant will join Walgreens and McDonald’s.

Aldi, Inc. (630-879-8100) plans to open 25 Aldi locations throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX area by the spring of 2010, including two stores in Dallas, two in Garland, and one each in Pantego, Plano, Richardson and Rowlett.
