Theisen’s (563-556-4738) will open three stores during the next several years. The company will open a 102,000 sq.ft. store at the intersection of Westcor Drive and U.S. Highway 6 in Corallville, IA during the fall of 2010. The company will also open a 106,000 sq.ft. store in a former EconoFoods site located along 51st Street Northeast in Cedar Rapids, IA during the fall of 2010. The company will also open a 50,000 sq.ft. store at the intersection of North Jefferson Way and Iowa 65/69 in Indianola, IA during 2011. The Indianola opening will be the company’s 20th location. The stores offer animal health, automotive, farm supplies and equipment, tack, hunting and fishing, lawn and garden, paint, pet, plumbing and electrical, security and welding products along with tools, paint, apparel and footwear.

TAWA Supermarket, Inc. (714-521-8899) will open a 65,000 sq.ft. 99 Ranch Market in a former Albertsons site at Southgate Plaza, located along Florin Road in Sacramento, CA. The Asian supermarket will feature fresh produce and hot deli departments along with a seafood department offering complimentary deep-fry service. The company currently operates 27 units throughout the western U.S.

Kohl’s Corp. (262-703-7000) is slated to open 30 Kohl’s department stores during 2010, an increase over initial projections of between 20 and 25 openings. The company also plans to remodel 65 stores.

Academy Sports & Outdoors (888-922-2336) will open two Academy Sports stores in the Chattanooga, TN area during the summer of 2010. The company will open a 72,000 sq.ft. store in a former Circuit City site at The Terrace shopping center, and will open a 66,000 sq.ft. store at Fountains of North Chattanooga, a 180,000 sq.ft. development located at the intersection of Highway 153 and Pine Marr Road in Hixson, TN. The company currently operates 120 units throughout 11 states.

Sterlingwear of Boston (617-567-6465) may open stores throughout New England during the next several years. The company, a manufacturer of military outerwear, opened its first store at Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, NH last month. The 3,388 sq.ft. store offers the company’s recently-launched line of consumer apparel, offering military-styled outerwear for men, women and children.

Eataly Distribuzione S.r.l. (IT: +39 011 19 50 68 11) will open an Eataly supermarket in Manhattan, NY. The gourmet specialty grocer will initially offer imported foods from Italy, but will eventually offer fresh meats, vegetables and fruits produced locally.

Fitness Together Franchise Corp. (877-663-0880), the franchising subsidiary of Fitness Together Holdings, Inc., will open an elements therapeutic massage studio along Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley, CA later this month. The company plans to eventually operate 20 locations throughout southern CA from Santa Barbara to San Diego. The Fountain Valley studio will be twice the size of a typical store and feature 12 massage rooms and offer six types of massages. The company currently operates 77 units nationwide throughout 21 states.

Forever 21, Inc. (213-741-5100) will open a Forever 21 store at Northgate Shopping Center, located in San Rafael, CA, during 2010. The tenant will join Kohl’s and H&M at the center, which recently completed renovations into a town plaza-type center.
