Best Buy Co., Inc. (612-291-1000) will open a 32,000 sq.ft. Best Buy in a combination of a former World of Décor Auction Extravaganza and a Linens ‘N Things site at The Walk at Highwoods Preserve, located at the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Highwoods Preserve Parkway in Tampa, FL. World of Décor Auction Extravaganza had occupied the site since July 2009 and will relocate into a 32,900 sq.ft. former Circuit City site located adjacent to the former Linens ‘N Things site. The opening will be Best Buy’s sixth store in Hillsborough County, FL.

Delhaize Group (704-633-8250) plans to open between 120 and 130 stores this year while renovating 100 existing locations. The company plans to close 15 Food Lion supermarkets and one Bloom grocery store. The company trades as Food Lion, Bloom, Hannaford and Sweetbay.

DirectBuy, Inc. (219-736-1100) is planning to open DirectBuy showrooms in WI, including two in Milwaukee and one each in Ft. Atkinson and Madison. The company currently operates 160 buyer’s clubs, offering brand-name furniture and appliances, nationwide and throughout Canada.

Casey’s General Stores, Inc. (515-965-6100) will open a Casey’s General Store in Neosho, MO as early as May. The convenience store will be in the company’s new, larger floorplan design with a GLA of 3,700 sq.ft. and will feature more fuel pumps and a more upscale interior than the company’s traditional stores. The new concept also features an expanded cooler section and a made-to-order sandwich station. The company currently operates 1,474 stores throughout the Midwest.

Aldi, Inc. (630-879-8100) will open a 17,000 sq.ft. Aldi supermarket on a 2.1-acre parcel located at the intersection of Louisville Road and U.S. 129 Bypass in Alcoa, TN. The discount supermarkets offering private-label grocery items, will open during the winter of 2011.

Nordstrom, Inc. (206-628-2111) will open a Nordstrom Rack location in Chicago, IL’s Magnificent Mile area, along East Chicago Avenue between North Michigan Avenue and North Rush Street this fall. The opening will be the company’s seventh Nordstrom Rack location in Chicago, including a downtown store located at the intersection of State Street and Washington Street.

The TJX Cos., Inc. (508-390-3000) is planning to open a 25,000 sq.ft. T.J. Maxx store in a former Linens ‘N Things site at Wareham Crossing, a retail center located in Wareham, MA. The store is slated to open during the first half of this year and will join Target and Lowe’s Home Improvement at the center.

Buckle, Inc. (440-934-1415) will open a 5,759 sq.ft. Buckle store at Eastview Mall, located in Victor, NY. The store is slated to open during late June or early July. The stores offer name-brand denim and lifestyle apparel along with personal jean fittings and free hemming of purchased apparel. The company currently operates 400 stores throughout 41 states nationwide. The opening will be the company’s third in NY.

Whole Foods Market, Inc. (512-477-4455) will open a 42,000 sq.ft. Whole Foods Market at Trolley Square, a retail center currently under renovation in Salt Lake City, UT. Renovations to the center are slated for completion during June and the supermarket, offering natural and organic grocery items, is slated to open during February 2011.
