The RICs act as a bridge of knowledge between
INHolland and the outside world. They bring
up-to-date information into INHolland from
outside, and they transfer information back –
usually the results of research – at both nationaland international level. Research groups focus
on the research demands of small and medium-
sized enterprises, as well as the public sector
and larger businesses. They also seek
co-operation with universities at home and
abroad, in addition to the bachelor and master
programmes within INHolland. More than twenty
lectors work for INHolland University of Applied
Sciences, in six different locations.

research.
Research at INHolland University of Applied
Sciences is organised in six Research and
Innovation Centres (RICs). The RICs consist of
research groups set up to examine the following,
specific themes:• GlobalCity
• Education&Learning
• Qualityoflife
• Entrepreneurship
• Business&Technology
• Governance
• Brand,ReputationandDesignManagement
INHolland has used these research groups to
develop, transfer and utilise knowledge since
2002. The groups are headed by lectors, that is
to say professionals who hold a lectureship andhave an established reputation within a specific
field. Most hold a PhD.
Many of these lectors combine their work for
INHolland with appointments elsewhere.
This enables them to keep in touch with the
professional practices of their respective fields.
This circulation of expertise stimulates and
facilitates innovation in the professional world as
well as in the educational programmes provided
by INHolland. This way, research contributes
to the development of competencies of future
professionals, and students learn about the
practicalities of the professional world by
conducting research. Lecturers as well as
experts from outside INHolland also participate
in the research groups.

Campuses and facilities
Selecting a university is not simply a case of
finding the degree programme that suits your
talents and career choice. It’s also about finding
a university that makes you feel at home,
supervises your personal development, teaches
to a high standard and is at the heart of the
community.
The degree programmes that INHolland
University of Applied Sciences teaches in
English are provided at four locations throughout
the Randstad – the cultural, political and indu-
strial heart of the Netherlands. Each campus is
unique, but they also have many things in
common, such as collaborating with businesses
and educational institutes abroad, providing
facilities for those with limited mobility, and
giving access to on-site libraries, ICT work-
stations and decent restaurants.
Personal supervision
Each of our campuses provides a system of
personal supervision by a student career coach,
lecturer and student counsellor. These people
not only help you with your studies but also
with practical and personal issues such as
impediments, homesickness or bereavement.
Obstacles to studying
INHolland is able to support you if you have
impediments such as a chronic or psychological
illness, dyslexia or a physical handicap.
The support can be in the form of suitable
arrangements, facilities or extra individual
supervision. You can discuss the various
possibilities with a student counsellor.
Combining study with a top sport
INHolland has developed facilities for top
sports students so that they can combine study
and sports at the highest level. The student
counsellor can provide more information on the
opportunities available.
Please read on to discover what each campus
can offer you. To find out the location of a parti-
cular programme, refer to the relevant section in
