Congressional Papers Section (CPS) Pre-Conference Scholarship May 1, 2019 Financial assistance to attend the CPR pre-conference at the Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting.
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) May 1, 2019
Short Term Research Grants Awards for doctoral candidates with well-defined research projects that make a stay in Germany essential. Preference given to applicants invited by a faculty member at a German university.
German Studies Research Grant Grants or highly-qualified graduate students who are nominated by their department/program chairs. The grant may be used for short-term research (one to two months) in Germany.
The Wenner-Gren Foundation Dissertation Fieldwork Grants May 1, 2019 Awarded to aid doctoral or thesis research that contributes to the Foundation’s mission of supporting basic research in anthropology and to ensure that the discipline continues to provide significant work that furthers our understanding of humanity’s cultural and biological origins, development, and variation.
Society for Male Reproduction and Urology Traveling Scholars Award Program May 2, 2019 Provides an opportunity for trainees to learn more about the field of male infertility by attending educational activities at the annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program May 9, 2019 The U.S. Department of Energy’s SCGSR Program prepares graduate students for science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) careers critically important to the DOE’s Office of Science mission by providing dissertation opportunities at DOE laboratories. The program funds PhD students to pursue research in a DOE laboratory for 3 to 12 months in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist.
The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History Fellowship May 13, 2019 The Institute provides annual short-term research fellowships in the amount of $3,000 each to doctoral candidates, college and university faculty at every rank, and independent scholars working in the field of American history. Fellows may conduct research within the archival holdings of any institution located in the five boroughs of New York City.
National Museum of the American Indian Internship Program June 1 Fall internships for students interested in the museum profession and related fields.
Society for the History of Technology Travel Grant June 15, 2019 (anticipated) Designed to defray some costs associated with attending the SHOT conference. This grant is open to individuals giving a paper at the annual meeting. The reviewing committee prioritizes scholars whose presentations address women, gender, race, ethnicity, and/or difference in the history of technology. Women, minorities, international scholars, and those who are new to SHOT are particularly encouraged to apply.
Golden Key International Honour Society June 17, 2019
Joan Nelson Study Abroad Scholarship Assists members who are going to participate in a study abroad program.
Golden Key Research Grant Supports members’ research and/or presentation of research at conferences.
Wolf Trap Internships July 1, 2019 Fall internships available to foster the next generation of arts leaders. 12-week program with flexible start and end dates in Washington, DC.
AIIS Junior Research Fellowships July 1, 2019 Specifically designed fellowships to enable doctoral candidates to pursue dissertation research in India.
American Society for Theater Research July 16, 2019 (early submissions encouraged)
Thomas Marshall Graduate Student Award Designed to encourage students to become active members of ASTR by helping them meet the expenses of attending the ASTR annual meeting.
Helen Krich Chinoy Dissertation Fellowship The total award amount of $3000 is typically divided into three equal awards. It is intended to assist Ph.D. candidates with the expenses of travel to national and international collections to conduct research projects connected with their dissertations.

Americans for the Arts—Internship Opportunities July 17, 2019 (anticipated) The Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to investigate and participate in the operations of the nation’s leading nonprofit for advancing the arts in America. Fall, Winter/ Spring, and Summer Internships are available.
Neotropical Grassland Conservancy (NGC) Student Grant Program August 1, 2019 The foundation’s mission is promoting the conservation of savannas, gallery forests, wetlands, and associated ecosystems in Central and South America. The Student Grant Program provides funds for basic needs such as transportation, lodging, meals and consumable field supplies. Open to Latin American students enrolled in M.S. or Ph.D. programs in U.S. or South American universities.
University Research Association Visiting Scholars Program August 26, 2019 Funding for visits to work at Fermilab for up to one year.
Advanced Short-Term Research Opportunity (ASTRO) Program Deadline: Rolling The Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s highly selective ASTRO program offers challenging short-term research opportunities to students enrolled in Master’s or Doctoral programs or to those holding a Master’s degree in any of the STEM disciplines. Participants conduct research in one of the laboratory’s current programs with a senior mentor for 3 to 12 months and receive a monthly stipend. Participants may also attend professional development events and request funding for relocation, conference travel, and publication fees.
