CPR Pre-Conference Scholarship May 1, 2017 Financial assistance to attend the CPR pre-conference meeting at the American Archivists Annual Meeting.

Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey FellowshipsApril 7, 2017; October 6, 2017Fellowships for international PhD students to pursue their research in Turkey. The program aims to promote Turkey’s scientific and technological collaboration with countries of the prospective researchers.

American Jewish Historical Society

Sid and Ruth Lapidus Fellowship April 20, 2017 Supports one or more researcher(s) wishing to use the collections of the American Jewish Historical Society. Preference is given to researchers interested in 17th and 18th century American Jewish history.

Ruth B. Fein Prize April 20, 2017 A travel stipend established in honor of a past president of the Society, to a graduate student to help undertake research at the American Jewish Historical Society. The award is up to $1,000.

Tampa Bay Seminole Club Graduate Student ScholarshipApril 30, 2017 (anticipated)It is the goal of the Tampa Bay Seminole club to continue our commitment towards further building a pipeline between Hillsborough and Pasco county high schools and Florida State University. Candidates must be a graduate of a Hillsborough or Pasco county high school and have proof of acceptance into a graduate program at FSU or graduate coursework completed.

The Wenner-Gren Foundation Dissertation Fieldwork GrantsMay 1, 2017Awarded to aid doctoral or thesis research. The program contributes to the Foundation’s overall mission to support basic research in anthropology and to ensure that the discipline continues to provide significant work that furthers our understanding of humanity’s cultural and biological origins, development, and variation.

Rockefeller Foundation—Bellagio Center Fellowships in the Creative ArtsMay 1, 2017The Academic Writing residency is for university and think tank-based academics, researchers, professors, and scientists working in any discipline. Successful applicants will demonstrate decades of significant professional contributions to their field or show evidence of being on a strong upward trajectory.

Society for Male Reproduction and Urology Traveling Scholars Award ProgramMay 4, 2017 (anticipated)The objective of this award is to provide an opportunity for trainees to learn more about the field of male infertility by attending educational activities at the annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Society for the History of Technology Travel GrantMay 10, 2017 (anticipated)Designed to defray some costs associated with attending the SHOT conference the grant is open to individuals giving a paper at the annual meeting. The reviewing committee prioritizes scholars whose presentations address women, gender, race, ethnicity, and/or difference in the history of technology. Women, minorities, international scholars, and those who are new to SHOT, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Fulbright—Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad ProgramMay 14, 2017Funds for individual doctoral students who conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months.

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History FellowshipMay 15, 2017Fellows may conduct research within the archival holdings of any institution located in the five boroughs of New York City.

Woodrow WIlson International Center for Scholars Middle East Program InternshipsApril 1, 2017 (Summer), July 15, 2017 (Fall), November 15, 2017 (Spring)The Program concentrates on long-term developments and how such issues impact stability and growth in the region and its relations with the United States. The Middle East Program’s meetings, conferences and reports assess the policy implications of regional developments (political, economic, and social), the Middle East’s role in the international arena, American interests in the region, strategic threats to and from the regional states, and the role and future prospects of the region’s energy resources.

Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society Academic Education ScholarshipApril 1, 2017; September 1, 2017This scholarship was implemented as a means of helping PENS to meet its goal of advancing the art and science of pediatric endocrine nursing. The PENS is committed to increasing the knowledge base and enhancing the professional development of nurses in the field of pediatric endocrinology.Eligibility: applicant must be an active PENS member who is pursuing her/his further education in an accredited degree program in nursing. Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program Graduate FellowshipApril 14, 2017 (anticipated)Provides funding for the pursuit of Masters or Doctorate Degrees in transportation related discipline. The Eisenhower Graduate Fellowship Program encompasses all modes of transportation.

ORISE Evaluation Fellowship Opportunity at the CDCApril 14, 2017Fellows work under the leadership of the CDC’s chief Evaluation Officer; they are matched with CDC host programs to work on program evaluation activities for/with those programs. Host programs are selected through a competitive process to ensure the activities build the knowledge base of the program and enhance the professional development of the Fellow. German-Canadian Studies Fellowship Competition April 15, 2017It is awarded on an annual basis for the most promising Master’s thesis project in German- Canadian history by a student enrolled in the Universities of Winnipeg and Manitoba’s Joint Master’s Program in History, working under the supervision of the Chair in German-Canadian Studies at the University of Winnipeg.

American Nurses Foundation Research Grants May 1, 2017The American Nurses Foundation Nursing Research Grants Program encourages the research career development of all nurses by provideing funds to beginning and experienced nurse researchers to conduct studies that contribute toward the advancement of nursing science and the enhancement of patient outcomes. Awards are given in all areas of nursing, including healthy patient outcomes, health care policy development, critical care, gerontology, women’s health, child health, community and family intervention, and leadership.

Barbara Rosenblum Cancer Dissertation Scholarship: Scholarship is designed to encourage doctoral research on women’s experience of breast cancer and other reproductive cancers, as well as the prevention of these cancers. The scholarship also supports efforts to make sociological research on these topics available to the public.

Beth B. Hess Memorial Scholarship: Scholarship is awarded to a dissertation writing PhD student who has studied for at least one full academic year at a two-year college in the U.S., before transferring to complete a BA.

Cheryl Allyn Miller Award: Award recognizes a sociology graduate student, or a recent doctorate, whose research or activism constitutes an outstanding contribution to the field of women and work.

Esther Ling Nang Chow and Mary Joyce Green Dissertation Scholarship: Scholarship offers support to women scholars who are from underrepresented groups and are studying concerns that women of color face domestically and/or internationally.

American Musicological Society (AMS) April 1, 2017See website for more funding opportunities

M. Elizabeth C. Bartlet Fund: A memorial to M. Elizabeth C. Bartlet, one of the foremost scholars of French music from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It is to be awarded annually to one or more doctoral students at or graduates of universities in the United States and Canada to conduct doctoral or post-doctoral musicological research in France.

Virginia and George Bozarth Travel Fund: intended to encourage and assist Ph.D. candidates, post-doctoral scholars, independent scholars, and junior faculty to travel to Austria to carry out research.

William Holmes / Frank D’Accone Endowment: The Holmes / D’Accone Endowment encourages and assists Ph.D. candidates, postdoctoral fellows, independent scholars, and junior faculty working with subject matter associated with the history of opera. Jan LaRue Travel Fund: The fund honors the memory of Jan LaRue (1918–2004), a distinguished scholar and AMS member admired for his pioneering work on style analysis, the eighteenth-century symphony, and early computer applications in musicology.

Harold Powers World Travel Fund: The fund is intended to encourage and assist Ph.D. candidates, in all fields of musical scholarship to travel anywhere in the world to carry out the necessary work for their dissertation or other research.

Doctoral Dissertation Grant Program (Fahs-Beck Scholars)April 1, 2017Grants up to $5000 to help support dissertation expenses of doctoral students whose studies have the potential for adding significantly to knowledge about problems in the functioning or well-being of children, adults, couples, families, or communities, or about interventions designed to prevent or alleviate such problems.

American Institute of Afghanistan Studies John F. Richards Fellowship ProgramApril 1, 2017Invites applications for support of short-term research or other scholarly projects that will advance the knowledge of Afghanistan. The Institute will be accepting applications for proposed projects along two tiers of the John F. Richards Fellowship Program. The program includes two different types of fellowships. Applicants must be individual members of AIAS to apply. Applicants for the Research Fellowship must be U.S. Citizens and be predoctoral, postdoctoral, junior, or senior scholars.

Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations Dissertation Completion FellowshipApril 1, 2017SHAFR will make two, year-long awards in the amount of $25,000 each to support the writing and completion of the doctoral dissertation. Applicants should be working on a topic in the field of U.S. foreign relations history or international history, and must be current members of SHAFR.

The NASA Fellowship in the History of Space TechnologyApril 1, 2017This fellowship will fund one pre-doctoral fellow for up to one academic year to undertake a research project related to the history of space technology including cultural and intellectual history, institutional history, economic history, history of law and public policy and history of engineering and management.

Florida-China Linkage ProgramApril 1, 2017Offers tuition exemption for citizens of China.

History of Science Society Fellowship in the History of Space ScienceApril 1, 2017The fellowship, offered by the History of Science Society and supported by the NASA History Division will annually fund one Fellow, for up to one academic year, to undertake a research project related to the history of space science. The HSS Fellowship in the History of Space Science is intended to fund research in the history of space science broadly conceived, including its social, cultural, institutional and personal context.
