    Americans for the Arts—Internship Opportunities See website for deadlines The Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to investigate and participate in the operations of the nation’s leading nonprofit for advancing the arts in America. Fall, Winter/ Spring, and Summer Internships are available.

    North American Conference on British Studies Dissertation Fellowship Various awards - See website for deadlines Supports dissertation research in the British Isles on any topic of British (including Scottish, Irish, and Imperial) history or British Studies. Applicants’ dissertation research must require travel to the British Isles.

    Mellon Fellowships in Urban Landscape Studies January 4, 2019 Allows scholars and designers to pursue research on the history and current conditions of urban landscapes.

    Humanity in Action - Summer Graduate Fellowship Program in Diplomacy and Diversity January 6, 2019 Fellows travel to Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, Copenhagen, Detroit, Sarajevo, or Warsaw to study how American and European governments and societies are responding to a wide range of international issues.

    Chateaubriand Fellowship January 8, 2019 Every year, the Embassy of France in the United States funds doctoral students enrolled in American universities to conduct research in France for 4 to 9 months. Available in STEM and Humanities & Social Sciences fields.

    Center for Jewish History Graduate Research Fellowship January 15, 2019 Residential ten-month fellowships for doctoral candidates to support original research using the collections of the Center’s partners: American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO, Institute for Jewish Research. Preference is given to those candidates who draw on the library and archival resources of more than one partner institution.


    American School of Classical Studies at Athens Fellowships and Grants January 15, 2019; February 15, 2019 (see website for further deadlines) One-year and short-term fellowships to travel to and study at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.

    The Multi-Country Research Fellowship January 24, 2019 The CAORC Multi-Country Research Fellowship Program supports advanced regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for U.S. doctoral candidates and postdoctoral scholars. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional research. Scholars must carry out research for a minimum of 90 days in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center. Approx. eight awards of $10,500 each will be given.

    Boren Fellowship January 30, 2019 - Application Deadline (Contact ogfa-info@fsu.edu for internal guidelines) Boren Fellowships, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded.

    Catherine H. Beattie Fellowship in Conservation Horticulture January 31, 2019 Annual research grant for graduate students in biology, horticulture, or other fields to study at a botanical garden.

    Wolf Trap Internships February 1, 2019 Spring, Summer, and Fall internships available to foster the next generation of arts leaders. 12-week program with flexible start and end dates in Washington, DC.

    Educational Testing Service (ETS) Summer Internship Program in Research February 1, 2019 Students will be selected to participate in ongoing research projects under the supervision of ETS senior staff. The program seeks to increase the number of women and minority professionals in educational measurement and related fields.

    National Museum of the American Indian Internship Program February 6, 2019 Internships are provided for students interested in the museum profession and related fields. Locations are in Maryland, Washington D.C., or New York for a duration of 10 weeks.

    Arena Stage Fellowship and Internship Program February 8, 2019 Program is designed to cultivate the next generation of theater professionals by providing the highest standard of training through immersion in the art and business of producing theater.

    Smithsonian Institution—STRI Short-Term Fellowship Program February 15, 2019; April 15, 2019; July 15, 2019 Provides support for graduate students and introduces them to tropical research. These fellowships enable selected candidates to work in the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and explore research possibilities.

    Fermilab LPC Guests and Visitors Program February 20, 2019 Funding to engage in research at the LHC Physics Center for up to one year.

    University Research Association Visiting Scholars Program February 25, 2019 The URA Scholars Program was established to support the work of faculty and students from URA Institutions to work at Fermilab for periods of up to one year. Visits can range from attendance at Fermilab conferences and summer schools to year-long stays at the lab.

    Eisenhower Foundation Travel Grant February 28, 2019 Assists scholars’ research in primary sources in the Eisenhower Presidential Library in fields such as history, government, economics, communications, and international affairs. Grants awarded on a competitive basis to cover a portion of expenses while in Kansas using the Eisenhower Presidential Library’s extensive resources.

    Mathematica Center for Studying Disability Policy February 16, 2019

    Summer Fellowship in Disability Policy Research Opportunity for students in master’s programs or early in doctoral programs (pre-dissertation phase) to spend the summer of 2019 at Mathematica’s Washington, DC office to learn more about conducting an independent research project related to disability policy.

    Dissertation Fellowship Program Offers financial support to students conducting doctoral dissertation research on topics consistent with the DRC’s mission.
