    Caucus for Women in Statistics Travel Award June 1, 2018 (anticipated) The Caucus for Women in Statistics (CWS) travel awards partially support attending a professional meeting, such as the Joint Statistical Meeting (JSM). We anticipate at least two awards in the amount of $500 each. The selection will be based on both merits and financial need.

    Society for the History of Technology Travel Grant June 15, 2018 Designed to defray some costs associated with attending the SHOT conference the grant is open to individuals giving a paper at the annual meeting. The reviewing committee prioritizes scholars whose presentations address women, gender, race, ethnicity, and/or difference in the history of technology. Women, minorities, international scholars, and those who are new to SHOT, are particularly encouraged to apply.

    Golden Key International Honor Society June 15, 2018

    Research Grant Supports members’ research and/or presentation of research at conferences.

    Joan Nelson Study Abroad Scholarship Assists members who are going to participate in a study abroad program.

    Wolf Trap Internships July 1, 2018 Spring, Summer, and Fall internships available to foster the next generation of arts leaders. 12-week program with flexible start and end dates in Washington, DC.

    AIIS Junior Research Fellowships July 1, 2018 Specifically designed to enable doctoral candidates to pursue their dissertation research in India.

    Travel

    National Museum of the American Indian Internship Program July 12, 2018 Internships are provided for students interested in the museum profession and related fields. Locations are in Maryland, Washington D.C. or New York for a duration of 10 weeks.

    Smithsonian Institution—STRI Short-Term Fellowship Program July 15, 2018 Provides support for graduate students and introduces them to tropical research. These fellowships enable selected candidates to work in the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and explore research possibilities at STRI.

    American Society for Theater Research July 16, 2018

    Thomas Marshall Graduate Student Award Designed to encourage students to become active members of ASTR by helping them meet the expenses of attending the ASTR annual meeting.

    Helen Krich Chinoy Dissertation Fellowship The total award amount of $3000 is typically divided into three equal awards. It is intended to assist Ph.D. candidates with the expenses of travel to national and international collections to conduct research projects connected with their dissertations.

    Americans for the Arts—Internship Opportunities July 17, 2018 (anticipated) The Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to investigate and participate in the operations of the nation’s leading nonprofit for advancing the arts in America. Fall, Winter/ Spring, and Summer Internships are available.

    Neotropical Grassland Conservancy (NGC) Student Grant Program August 1, 2018 The foundation’s mission is promoting the conservation of savannas, gallery forests, wetlands, and associated ecosystems in Central and South America. The Student Grant Program (SGP) was designed in response to feedback from Venezuelan professors. Graduate student research projects are often hindered by lack of funds for basic needs such as transportation, lodging, meals and consumable field supplies. Open to Latin American students enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. program in a US or South American university.

    University Research Association Visiting Scholars Program August 27, 2018 Funding for visits to work at Fermilab for up to one year.

    Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation USArtists International Grants September 7, 2018 (anticipated) Funding for American artists to perform at important cultural festivals and art marketplaces around the globe.

    Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program September 8, 2018 (anticipated) Spend 12 weeks in winter/spring at the National Academies in Washington, DC, learning about science and technology policy and the role that scientists and engineers play in advising the nation. Applicants become part of a National Academies committee, board, or unit where they are assigned to a mentor and learn about the world of science and technology policy.

    Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation Research Travel Grants September 15, 2018 Grants up to $2,200 in support of research in the holdings of the GeraldR. Ford Library. The grant may be used to defray travel costs and living expenses.

    German Chancellor Fellowship for Prospective Leaders September 15, 2018 Conduct independent projects at a host institution in Germany for one year, network with other prospective leaders from abroad and explore new solutions to the global issues of our times

    Women Chemists Committee/Eli Lilly Travel Awards September 15, 2018 Need-based grants offered to graduate and postdoctoral women chemists to travel and present the results of their research at scientific meetings.

    Institute for Humane Studies Conference and Research Grant Deadline: Rolling, at least four weeks before activity for which you are seeking funding Grants awarded to graduate students advancing the principles of freedom through their career to present at academic or professional conferences, travel to academic job interviews on a campus or at a conference, travel to archives or libraries for research, and participate in career-development seminars.

    International Ocean Discovery Program Expedition The International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) is an international research collaboration that coordinates seagoing expeditions to study the history of the Earth recorded in sediments and rocks beneath the ocean floor.
