During their interactions with the Dr. Nirmal Singh, prob- lems related to different depart- ments were taken up with him by the people who had thronged the BJP office to have direct talk with him. The problems, as highlighted by the people as well as by the party activists, were immediate- ly taken up by DyCM with con- cerned officials. Dr. Singh, while interacting with the people, said that every Minister of the party has been asked to be available at party headquarter once in a week for direct interaction with the party activists. Not only party activists but the general public is also coming to meet the ministers. Besides a delegation led by State president Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) led by Dr.Surinder Radotra met Deputy CM and submitted a memorandum regarding pending burning issues of VAEAs to him. Dr Radotra discussed differ- ent pending issues like pending salary, inclusion of 7-8-9 years of service as REZ in regular service for old pension benefits, reconsidering of grade pay at per JAEOs and framing of service rules and pending issues. DyCM assured them that for salary and arrears of 2nd and 3rd batch VAEAs the funds will be released soon. Dr. Singh said that regarding inclusion of services as REZ for pensionary benefits he will take up issue with Agriculture Minister. Yudhvir Sethi senior vice president BJP, Mamta Singh VP of the Party and Nariender Singh general secretary BJP were also present at the occasion. A joint delegation of Kashmiri Pandits led by Dr Ramesh Bhat, also met DyCM Dr Singh. They brought into notice the issues concerning the Kashmiri Pandit community in general and the residents of Jagti township and employees of PM package in particular. The issues raised by the delegation were the non functionality of the 40 bed- ded hospital at Jagti and the recurring drinking water prob- lem during the Monsoon. The DyCM immediately contacted Minister of PHE and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Jammu and directed the RC to present the status of the hospital as well as the drinking water facility before him. He also directed the RC to personally visit the Jagiti and prepare the status report in order to mitigate the health and drinking water problems for all times to come. The accommodation prob- lem of PM Package employees putting up at Hall Camp was also discussed in detail with Dy Cm in presence of the package employees. The Dy CM asked the package employees to come with all the details pertaining to their place of posting as well as the accommodation needs of them and their families to his office in the coming week. He also took the matter with other officers and assured the employees that the Government is ceased of their genuine problem on account of their security and will take appropriate measures for their accommodation in the Valley before directing them to their duties. Deen Dayal Upadhayay, BJP Training Department organized one day 'Prashikshan Varg' here today. Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Dec 17: Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha (ABMSS) J&K zone today launched its membership drive for working committee in the State with an aim to uplift the weaker section of Mahajan biradari at the State as well as National level. Addressing a press confer- ence here today, Sham Lal Langer, zonal president (ABMSS), today announced the launch of membership drive for its working committees within State. The aim of launching the membership drive is to provide succour to the widows, destitute and excelling students including providing them aid on quarterly basis whereas as intelligent stu- dents will be provided scholar- ship so as to continue their study without any hindrance. Elaborating on the details of membership drive, Langer averred that each member has to fill a membership form provid- ing his details and particulars. Each member has to submit one time membership fee of Rs 500 with the form. NEXAS takes out candle light march in honour of martyrs Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Dec 17: NEXAS (Sainik School Nagrota Ex- Students' Association) today organized a candle light solidar- ity march in honour of martyrs. Hundreds of Alumni of Sainik School Nagrota and their families were joined by stu- dents, NGOs, Ex-Servicemen and citizens from all walks of life in the solidarity march that was organized to sensitize the society towards the supreme sacrifices made by young offi- cers and men of the armed forces for the dignity, sovereign- ty and integrity of the Country. The march was started with silence from Press Club, Jammu to Balidaan Stambh, emanating the message that the supreme sacrifices of our martyrs should be held in highest reverence and the families of the martyrs should be given utmost respect and honour. The candle march was aimed more pertinently at expressing solidarity with the family of Major Arvind Bazala, a fellow NEXAN, who lost his life in a chopper crash in Sukna, West Bengal on November 30 this year. He achieved martyrdom along with two other officers while coming from a routine sortie. The crash allegedly took place due to technical failure of the 'Cheetah' helicopter. "Our objective is to sensitize the citizens in general towards the sacrifices of soldiers of the armed forces. We also want to sensitize the State Government to consider befitting compensa- tion to the families of these brave hearts at par with other states", said Randhir Singh Bloeria, Chairman of NEXAS. Expressing deep anguish over the martyrdom of young Major Bazala, he regretted that the pre- cious life of a valiant and prom- ising officer was lost to a faulty machine. The march culminated at Balidaan Stambh, where hom- age was paid to the martyrs of Nagrota militant attack, along with Major Bazala and his two fellow officers. The family members of Major Bazala were also honoured by NEXAS. Addressing a press confer-ence here today, Sham LalLanger, zonal president(ABMSS), today announced thelaunch of membership drive forits working committees withinState. The aim of launching themembership drive is to provide

succour to the widows, destituteand excelling students includingproviding them aid on quarterlybasis whereas as intelligent stu-dents will be provided scholar-ship so as to continue their studywithout any hindrance.

Elaborating on the details ofmembership drive, Langeraverred that each member has tofill a membership form provid-

ing his details and particulars.Each member has to submit onetime membership fee of Rs 500with the form.

Zonal president further saidthat the member enrolled will beillegible for constitution ofworking committees of sabha atdistrict, tehsil, zonal, block andsector level.

He appealed for maximumparticipation of the biradarimembers in the members driveso that the sabha could work forcontribution towards the biradarimembers at National level. Thesabha expressed its resolve tobring all the already existingsabhas working for the welfareof Mahajan biradari under oneumbrella for the betterment ofthe biradari within the State.

Chairman of Jammu KashmirGurdwara Parbandhak Board TSWazir told the media that twoNagar Kirtans from Kathua-Samba and Doda - Udhampurbelt have already been organizedwith the cooperation of respec-tive District GurdwaraParbandhak Committees. NEXAS takes out candle lightmarch in honour of martyrs

JAMMU, Dec 17: NEXAS(Sainik School Nagrota Ex-Students' Association) todayorganized a candle light solidar-ity march in honour of martyrs.

Hundreds of Alumni ofSainik School Nagrota and theirfamilies were joined by stu-dents, NGOs, Ex-Servicemenand citizens from all walks of

life in the solidarity march thatwas organized to sensitize thesociety towards the supremesacrifices made by young offi-cers and men of the armedforces for the dignity, sovereign-

ty and integrity of the Country.The march was started with

silence from Press Club, Jammuto Balidaan Stambh, emanatingthe message that the supremesacrifices of our martyrs shouldbe held in highest reverence andthe families of the martyrsshould be given utmost respectand honour.

The candle march was aimedmore pertinently at expressingsolidarity with the family of

Major Arvind Bazala, a fellowNEXAN, who lost his life in achopper crash in Sukna, WestBengal on November 30 thisyear. He achieved martyrdomalong with two other officerswhile coming from a routinesortie. The crash allegedly tookplace due to technical failure ofthe 'Cheetah' helicopter.

"Our objective is to sensitizethe citizens in general towards

the sacrifices of soldiers of thearmed forces. We also want tosensitize the State Governmentto consider befitting compensa-tion to the families of thesebrave hearts at par with otherstates", said Randhir SinghBloeria, Chairman of NEXAS.Expressing deep anguish overthe martyrdom of young MajorBazala, he regretted that the pre-cious life of a valiant and prom-ising officer was lost to a faultymachine.

The march culminated atBalidaan Stambh, where hom-age was paid to the martyrs ofNagrota militant attack, alongwith Major Bazala and his twofellow officers. The familymembers of Major Bazala werealso honoured by NEXAS.
