Malik (KAS) General Manager (Admn) JKSRTC Tata Motors to continue production of Nano for some more time HYDERABAD, Sept 26: Tata Motors has said it would continue the production of Nano cars for some more time as the vehicle has an "emotional con- nect" with the Tata Group. "Nano plays an important role in our PV (passenger vehicle) strategy because it is our only product in the entry hatchback segment, which is a very impor- tant segment from a first time buyer point of view," a Tata Motors spokesperson told PTI in an email reply. "We regularly review our product strategy and will certain- ly give an update in the months to come. Till that time, we continue to produce Nano catering to cus- tomer demand in key markets," the spokesperson said. There have been discussions late- ly with regard to the future of Tata Nano, which was the brainchild of chairman emeritus Tata Sons, Ratan Tata. "There have been a lot of dis- cussions around the future of Nano and the emotional connect with the vehicle, leading to sever- al conclusions. No decision has been taken on Nano yet as this cannot be done in isolation. Decisions regarding any product will be taken in context of the entire Passenger Vehicle Strategy," the official said. Meanwhile, Mayank Pareek president passenger vehicle busi- ness unit, Tata Motors, said that by the end of next year, the com- pany's aim is to be among the top 3 PV players in the domestic mar- ket. Pareek was in the city yester- day to launch Tata Motors latest SUV Nexon. Tata Motors passenger vehi- cle sales has been witnessing a positive growth trajectory, with company sales growing at 22 per cent in FY17, while the industry growth stood at 9 per cent. According to Pareek, electric mobility preparedness will play a critical role in achieving sustain- able growth of the automaker. (AGENCIES) Nissan rolls out redi-Go variant at Rs 3.69 lakh NEW DELHI, Sept 26: Nissan Motor India today launched Datsun redi-Go Gold with one litre engine, a limited edition variant of hatchback redi-Go, priced at Rs 3.69 lakh (ex- showroom). The variant would be available from today at all Nissan and Datsun dealerships across the country, Nissan Motor India said in a statement. "Datsun will make the festive season even more special for our customers by bringing more power, style and convenience in the redi-GO Gold 1.0L limited edition," company's VP, Marketing and Datsun Business Unit, Jerome Saigot said. Tata Motors to continue productionof Nano for some more time
