DAILY EXCELSIOR, JAMMU MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2015 (PAGE 9) 19 ‘baratis’ injured in bus accident Excelsior Correspondent RAJOURI, Feb 1: At least 19 persons were injured, two of them seriously when a bus carrying marriage party mem- bers skidded of the road and fell into a gorge near Bathuni on Nowshera-Rajouri road this afternoon. A police spokesman said that the mishap took place at around 4.50 pm when the mini-bus, bearing registration No. JK02H/9517 was carrying members of marriage party from Dangri to Bathuni vil- lage. As it reached near Bathuni, the driver lost con- trol over the speeding vehicle and it rolled into a gorge. While the driver escaped from the spot, the conductor Rajesh Singh of Swari village got injured and was also hos- pitalized along with other injured persons. Immediately after the mishap, Army men from the nearby unit and police jawans led by SHO Rajouri Yash Jamwal and DySP Hqrs, Rajouri Hamid Choudhary reached the spot and shifted 15 injured to District Hospital Rajouri while four to Army Hospital. Two seriously injured Nek Alam, son of Mohd Hussain of Dassal and Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Mir Hussain of Barthuni were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. Some of the injured were discharged after providing first aid at dis- trict hospital. The police has taken cognizance of the mat- ter. 4 injured in separate road accidents Excelsior Correspondent SAMBA, Feb 1: Four peo- ple were injured in two sepa- rate road accidents in Samba district today. According to police two Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims who were on their way to holy cave in their Collis car bear- ing number DL 4S AG 0786 were seriously injured when their car was hit by an unknown truck from back side at National Highway near Nanke Chak this morning. They were rushed by Sapwal police to District Hospital Samba where from doctors referred them to GMC Jammu for treatment as their condition was critical. The duo was identified as Varinder Kumar and Shakuntula Devi. Both were residents of Delhi. Sapwal Police has registered a case under rele- v a n t Sections of the law. However the truck fled from the scene after accident. In anoth- er accident a motorcyclist and a Bolero driver were injured after the two vehicles col- lided with each other at NH near Sankha Morh today. Both of them were rushed to G M C Jammu by Vijaypur Police. T h e police has registered a case in this regard under relevant Sections of law. The Bolero driver was identified as Jaswinder Singh alias Deepu son of Gurmukh Sing of Sanjay Nagar, Jammu while motor cyclist was iden- tified as Davinder Singh, son of Barkat Singh of Raika Labana. Police said the Bolero bearing registration number JK 02 AG 2033 hit the motor cycle bearing number JK02AB 8053 and both the driver of Bolero and two wheeler were seriously injured. JAMMU, Feb 1: JagtiTenement Committee (JTC)has expressed grave concernover delaying tactics adoptedby CAPD Department in send-ing the ration to Jagti camp intime with the result the campinmates are put to many hard-ships.
JTC president, Shadi LalPandita in a statement issuedhere, today said that despiterepeated pleas the CAPDDepartment instead of distrib-uting the ration during thewhole of the month or firsttwo weeks was distributingthe same during the last twodays of the month with theresult maximum ration cardholders are deprived of thesupply.
Mr Pandita also demandedthat in view of holy Shivratrifestival the Governmentshould ensure supply ofration, LPG, sugar etc inadvance. He while compli-menting the D G Police fororganizing tournament in theJagti township has alsodemanded that on spot recruit-ment for migrant youth beheld in police.
