NASA Tech Briefs provided the names and email addresses of approximately

2,000 subscribers, selected on an Nth name basis.

On May 25th Lion Associates sent out an alert to 2,152 subscribers informing

them of the upcoming survey and requesting that they save their June 2010

issue.

On June 15th the survey invitation was emailed with a link to complete the

online survey. Of the 2,152 email recipients, 641 were undeliverable due to

several reasons: unknown email domain, non-existent address or fatal error.

Of the 1,511 successful deliveries, 110 respondents completed the survey – a

response rate of 7%. A reminder was emailed to the subscribers who did not

yet complete the survey. The survey ended at 9:00 p.m. on July 15th with

110 completed surveys.

As an incentive, they were also advised that all participants who completed

the survey would be entered into a random drawing to win a $100 American

Express Gift Certificate in appreciation of their time.
