    Achievement

    Learning achievement is a picture of the success of

    education in an institution. High and low learning

    achievements obtained indicate the high and low quality of

    existing education. Currently the Indonesian nation is facing a

    crucial problem, which is based on the PISA report (Program

    for International Study Assessment) placing Indonesia as one

    of the lowest ranked countries in achieving the quality of

    education. Learning achievement can be influenced by several

    factors, in which in this study what is considered dominant is

    the management of the principal's leadership and school

    culture. But it turns out there are experts who argue that the

    principal's leadership management and school culture cannot

    directly influence achievement, both of which can affect

    achievement when it passes teacher performance. As we know

    that teachers are the spearhead in the success of education.

    This study aims to determine the existence of: 1) a

    significant influence on the leadership management of school

    principals on teacher performance at SMPN 1 Poncol, 2) a

    significant influence on school culture on teacher performance

    at SMPN 1 Poncol, 3) a significant influence on teacher

    performance on student learning achievement at SMPN 1

    Poncol, 4) a significant influence on the principal's leadership

    management on student achievement at SMPN 1 Poncol, 5) a

    significant influence on school culture on student achievement

    at SMPN 1 Poncol, 6) the influence of the principal's

    leadership management on learning achievement through

    teacher performance at SMPN 1 Poncol, 7) the influence of

    school culture on student achievement through teacher

  • performance at SMPN 1 Poncol. The approach used by

    researchers is a quantitative approach. Data collection

    techniques using a questionnaire. Analysis of the data used

    path analysis. The population of this study was 212 IX students

    and the sample used was 131 students.

    From the analysis of the data found: 1) there is an

    influence of school leadership management on teacher

    performance in SMPN 1 Poncol Academic Year 2019/2020

    with a significance value of the variable X₁ = 0.003 smaller than 0.05 and Thitung> Ttable (3,020> 1,645). 2) there is an

    influence of school culture on teacher performance in SMPN 1

    Poncol Academic Year 2019/2020 with a significance value of

    the variable X₂ = 0,000 less than 0.05. and Thitung> TTable (5,204> 1,645). 3) there is an influence of teacher performance

    on student achievement in SMPN 1 Poncol Academic Year

    2019/2020 with a significance value of the variable Y₁ = 0.005 smaller than 0.05 and Thitung> Ttable (2.968> 1.645). 4) there

    is an influence of school leadership management on student

    achievement in SMPN 1 Poncol Academic Year 2019/2020

    with a significance value of the variable X₁ = 0.002 smaller than 0.05 and Thitung> Ttable (2.409> 1.645). 5) there is an

    influence of school culture on student achievement in SMPN 1

    Poncol Academic Year 2019/2020 with a significance value of

    the variable X₁ = 0.001 smaller than 0.05 and Thitung> Ttable (4.360> 1.645). 6) there is an influence of school management

    leadership on student achievement by passing the performance

    of teachers in SMPN 1 Poncol Academic Year 2019/2020 with

    the direct influence given by X₁ on Y₂ of 0.126. While the indirect effect of X₁ through Y₁ to Y₂ is the multiplication between the value of beta X₁ against Y₁ with the value of Y₁ against Y₂, which is = 0.273 x 0.685 = 0.187. Based on the results of the above calculation it is known that indirectly the

    management of the principal's leadership through teacher

    performance has a significant influence on student learning

  • achievement. 7) there is an influence of school culture on

    student achievement by passing the performance of teachers in

    SMPN 1 Poncol Academic Year 2019/2020 the direct effect

    given by X₂ on Y₂ is 0.175. While the indirect effect of X₂ through Y₁ on Y₂ is the multiplication between the value of beta X₂ against Y₁ with the value of Y₁ against Y₂, which is = 0.470 x 0.685 = 0.321. Based on the calculation above, it is

    known that indirectly the culture variables of the school

    through teacher performance have a significant influence on

    student achievement.

    Terhadap Kinerja Guru dalam Mewujudkan Prestasi Belajar

    Siswa di SMPN 1 Poncol Tahun Ajaran 2019/2020”, maka

    tesis inisudah dipandang layak diajukan dalam agenda ujian

    tesis pada sidang Majlis Munaqasah Tesis.

    BAB I

    PENDAHULUAN

    A. Latar Belakang

    Saat ini bangsa Indonesia sedang menghadapi

    permasalahan krusial yaitu rendahnya prestasi belajar siswa,

    hal ini diketahui dari laporan PISA (Programme For

    International Study Assesment) menempatkan Indonesia

    sebagai salah satu negara dengan peringkat terendah dalam

    pencapaian mutu pendidikan, di mana pemeringkatan tersebut

    dapat dilihat dari skor yang dicapai pelajar usia 15 tahun

    dalam kemampuan membaca, matematika dan sains.1 Selain

    itu hasil publikasi lembaga Internasional salah satunya UNDP

    yang menunjukkan bahwa prestasi belajar siswa di Indonesia

    masih rendah bila dibandingkan dengan negara lain di

    kawasan ASEAN. Hal tersebut perlu diperhatikan mengingat

    prestasi belajar siswa menggambarkan kualitas pendidikan di

    Indonesia.

    Prestasi belajar dapat dipengaruhi beberapa faktor,

    yaitu faktor internal yang meliputi jasmaniah dan psikologis

    dan faktor eksternal yang meliputi sosial, budaya dan

    lingkungan fisik. Faktor sosial yang dapat berpengaruh

    terhadap prestasi belajar siswa adalah lingkungan keluarga,

    lingkungan sekolah, lingkungan masyarakat dan kelompok2

    Dari beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi tersebut terdapat

    dua faktor yang menurut peneliti dominan, yaitu faktor sosial

    dalam hal ini adalah lingkungan sekolah dan faktor budaya.

    Lingkungan sekolah adalah pelanjut dalam pendidikan

    di lingkungan keluarga. Oleh karena itu lingkungan sekolah

    sering disebut dengan lingkungan kedua setelah keluarga. Di

    Indonesia sekolah dengan kesungguhannya harus

    melaksanakan tugas dan fungsinya untuk mewujudkan tujuan
