Dynamic Catholic, Alive! The Resurrection
The most stunning aspect of believing in the Resurrection is that we believe in the Resurrection of the body. We believe that Jesus truly is the “firstborn of the dead” in that He rose body and soul just like we will at the final judgment. Sometimes we might not connect the dots between the immediacy of death, when body and soul separate, and the beauty of resurrection, when body and soul are united. What will our risen, glorified, body-souls be like? (Catechism of the Catholic Church 686, 908-1019)

Vocation Prayer Chalice
If you are willing to have the Vocation Prayer Chalice in your home for a week, please call the parish office.
Having had two funerals within two weeks, I thought I would give all within the parish some
general information about our cemetery. Currently, based on the current dimensions, we are nearly 70% full. However, we have current land available to nearly double our current size. Once our new sewage plant is established, we will have no fur-ther need of the lagoon. That will provide us with even more space. Therefore our cemetery has plenty of room to expand as the need arises. Some people have picked out their plot in ad-vance of their death. Most people wait until their “loved one” has died to pick out their plot. Waiting to pick a plot until the need arises is preferred so the current area can fill up without having empty gravesites before we have to develop a new area. The cremation wall within our cemetery has 35 niches. Ten have currently been acquired by families. Each niche can hold a maximum of three urns. The cost for a cemetery plot for parishioners is $750 per plot. The cost for a niche in the cremation wall for parish-ioners is $1,450 per niche. If you have already paid in full for a plot in our cemetery and wish now to be cremated and put into the cremation wall, the cost is $250 for a niche. There is no additional cost to open a niche as there is to open a grave. Cremated remains can be placed in our cremation wall or buried in a plot within our cemetery. All cremated remains should be in a worthy place that provides for a permanent me-morial (a cemetery or cremation wall). If you have any other questions regarding our cemetery, please contact me or Trish Seaman, my parish assistant. Let us pray for each other this week. Father Bob Samson

Stewardship Awareness “May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through His grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word.” Thessalonians 2:16-17 There are two important lessons here. First, we are called to be gen-erous with our encouragement and hope. As God shows us mercy, we must be merciful to others. Second, joy is contagious! The joy we receive from doing good works not only strengthens us, it encourages others as well.

With another Presidential election upon us, let us be informed in our role as Catholic partici-pants in our democracy. The United States Con-ference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) updated
its document “Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship,” taking into account current issues in the United States including abortion, physician-assisted suicide, redefinition of marriage, the immigration system and refugee crisis, religious liberty domestically and internationally, and terror and violence. A copy of the document can be downloaded at http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/faithful-citizenship. This is a wonderful resource as we prepare to elect our local and national leaders on November 8.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Jim Wilmeth, husband of Vickie Wilmeth. May God grant him eter-nal rest.
Euchre tournament There will be a Euchre Tournament sponsored by the Knights of Columbus next Sat., Nov. 12 at 7pm in the cafeteria and every second Saturday through March 2017. Thanksgiving Pies for the Poor Our Lady of Perpetual Help Food Pantry located in the very poor inner city of north St Louis provides food for about 75 families a week, along with clothing, appliances and furni-ture. In addition, they teach basic computer skills, provide health screening and vision care for the poor. Each year OLPH prepares and delivers a Thanksgiving meal for the poor of the area. This year they expect to prepare 2,000 meals. OLPH is asking our parish to help by baking pies for the meal. If you are able to donate a pie or two, please deliver them to the school cafeteria on Wednesday, November 23 by 10am. Thank you!
