Dynamic Catholic, Alive! Hail Mary
Why does the Church honor Mary? Simply, she is the Mother of God and the Mother of the Church. “The faithful see in Mary an image and an anticipation of the resurrection that awaits them and they invoke her as advocate, helper, benefac- tress and mediatrix” (Compendium, 197). Much of the text of the Hail Mary is taken from the Gospel of Luke. Do you have a devotion to Mary?

Fridays during Lent Stations of the Cross at 2:30pm & 6:30pm Mass at 8:00am & 7:00pm Confessions before the 8am Mass and after the 7:00pm Mass
On Sat., April 25 at 10:00 a.m. eighteen second graders will receive their First Holy Communion:
I ask that each of you pick one of these children and pray for him or her for the next five weeks as they prepare to receive Our Lord in Holy Communion for the first time. On Holy Thursday night, the Youth Group will be assisting me throughout Mass. They will be doing all the litur- gical roles as well as participating in the Washing of the Feet. I encourage everyone to go to confession sometime before Holy Week and participate in the Holy Week services as this will better prepare you for the celebration of Easter. You will find inserted in the inside cover of the mis- salettes the “Prayer Process” by Matthew Kelly. This was taken from his book The Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic. The Parish Council and I felt that this should be made readily available to all our parishioners. Extra copies are available in the vestibule. Let us pray for one another this week.

Stewardship Awareness “’I will be their God and they shall be my people.” Jeremiah 31:33 What does it mean to be God’s people? It means we recognize that everything we have and everything we are belongs to God. We aren’t owners of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has given us. It means we are willing to use our gifts and our lives to care for our neighbors and the world, just as God cares for us.
