A visit to Roaring Camp is a return to an 1880s’ California logging town complete with general store, depot, engine house, covered bridge, opera house and other vintage structures. Choose between an excursion on a 100-year-old Forest Train to Bear Mountain or an open-air Beach Train traveling along the San Lorenzo River Gorge to the Boardwalk of Santa Cruz at the shores of Monterey Bay.

GROUP facility usage fees Bret Harte Hall Bret Harte Hall is ideal for activities such as corporate events, parties and performances. The hall offers 6,120 sq. ft. of space, 32-foot high ceilings, a flexible multipurpose stage, and on-site prep kitchen for caterers. Fees include facility coordination, site usage for 8 consecutive hours (including setup, function and teardown time), and standard tables and chairs for up to 250 people.

For every 30 minutes facility is in use in excess of contracted time, an additional room rental fee of $175 per half-hour will be imposed. A $250 refundable security deposit is required for all facility usage, including Bret Harte Hall rentals.

Groups renting Deer Creek picnic areas may bring in their own food and cook on barbecue pits. Groups using outside professional caterers are subject to a $5 per person surcharge. All vendors must make prior arrangements with Roaring Camp for deliveries and setup. Use of Roaring Camp facilities or grounds (excluding Bret Harte Hall rentals) after 6:00 p.m. requires a minimum of 100 people plus after-hours fee of $350 per hour. Roaring Camp closes at 11:00 p.m.

Inquire for group minimum for non-scheduled train departures. A deposit is required within 14 days of initial group reservation before it can be confirmed. Upon arrival at Roaring Camp, one person must act as group rep-resentative to pick up group’s tickets, reconcile reservation, and make final payment. Group should arrive at Roaring Camp at least 30 minutes before first scheduled activity. Group train and meal tickets are valid only on the day of group event or activity. Parking is $10 per car.
