REFLECTION:As we are in this joyful season of preparation andwaiting, John the Baptist is the powerful yet gentlevoiceinthewildernessmentionedbyProphetIsaiah(Is40:30).InthefullnessofGod’stime,GodsentHisonly Begotten Son to save theworld so thatHe canalsogiveuslifeeternal.CalledtobetheprecursorofthePromisedMessiah, hehas toprepare thewayoftheLord. Becauseof this, there isalwaysasenseofurgencytothiscallasagiftbearinginmindthatlikewheat is separated from chaff so will the faithfulpeoplebe separated from theunfaithful. Weshouldnot think that salvation is guaranteed by ourBaptism. Rather, there should be an evidence ofsincere repentancemanifested in good fruit andnotinemptywords.CHALLENGE:Preparationsarerequiredtohavegoodfruits.How’syour own preparation for a fruitful and joyfulChristmas?UPDATE:Wearenowinthisbusy liturgicalseason.

profeta Isaı́as.

nuestro bautismo. Más bien, debe ser una evidencia de

arrepentimiento sincero manifestada en los buenos

frutos y no las palabras vacı́as...
