Two men in custodyOn May 6, 4am, Merritt RCMPresponded to an alarm at the Super SaveGas on Nicola Ave. Two maen hadentered the premises causing damage tothe building while attempting to discon-nect wires. When they were unable todisconnect the alarm, they fled.

After viewing the video surveillance,members made patrols in the area andfound the 2 who fit the description. The54-year old & 40 year old LowerMainland men were arrested, and have

  been charged with B&E with intent tocommiit an indictable offence, and dis-guise with intent to commit an offence.

Copper wire stolenOn May 11, 9am, police responded to

a call of a theft of copper pipies and wire

at the VSA yard at Britton Creek.Sometime overnight, suspects entered the

 bunkhouse there, and worked diligentlyto remove all the copper pipes and wirein the building. Wire was also removedfrom a nearby abandoned hydro buildingwhich had old metres inside.

While the value of the copper takenis not known, the estimated cost toreplace and repair the damage is$70,000. Anyone with any info may callMerritt RCMP, or Crime Stoppers.
