Canada Post strike?Canada Post and its employees were

in negotiatons Saturday, but a statementfrom the Canadian Union of PostalWorkers said its 50,000 members should

be ready to strike in the near future.Sticking points include workplace safetyand wages for new employees. Theunion must give 72 hours' strike notice,

but had not by yesterday afternoon.

Coquihalla pile-upThe Coq, just 4km south of town, was

the site of a multi-vehicle pile up at about3:30pm on Friday afternoon. 9 peoplewere hurt, 2 seriously enough to be takento Royal Inland Hopital in Kamloops, while the rest were treated at NVGH. Theincident involved 2 commercial tractortrailer units and 5 personal vehicles. Bothnorth and southbound lanes were closedfor a short time during the investigation.Police say the highway was wet at thetime and the accident likely could have

been prevented. It apparently startedwith a minor accident and drivers notpaying attention as they were going by,and ended up with several vehicles col-liding with each other. One witnessclaims that one of the semis did not slowdown & plowed straight into the vehiclesthat were stopped for the [first] accident.

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese.

A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On mydesk, I have a workstation.

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train peopleto stand on the very edge of a pool and throw them fish.
