Whenhe realized he wasn’t quite ready to re-tire, Michael supported Howard whenhe decided to follow in his footstepsand open an air-conditioning companythat people could really trust. Thatwas almost 25 years ago, and todayMillian-Aire is one of the most well re-spected businesses in town. Back then,Howard and his father would carefullyinstall each unit, and his mother Fayeran the office. Now, Howard, his wifeSue Millian, and their family have astaff of more than 30 qualified, experi-enced and certified technicians whohave the same dedication, commit-ment and respect for the customer.

Michael still pulls permits andhelps his family too! Just like their com-

just three, but he makes everyonesmile, and that’s just as important.

Millian-Aire also gives back to theTrinity community. In fact, they are abig supporter of the soccer program atJ.W. Mitchell High School, largely be-cause of their son Cody, who gradu-ated from there. As part of Cody’ssenior project, he wanted to honor hisgrandfather’s legacy after he passedaway from lung cancer. To do so, Sueand Howard helped him to create afoundation called the JK Cancer Fund.

Sue says, “He wanted to hold agolf tournament to raise money forpeople who are recovering from theeffects of chemo and radiation to helpthem get their lives back. At first, wethought it would just be our family, but the word got out and that firstyear we raised $10,000!”

Since then, the annual JK CancerFund Golf Tournament, which is heldeach April at the Seven Springs Golfand Country Club, has continued toraise funds ( it was up to $61,000 as ofJune 2013) to help local residents whoare recovering from Cancer. Sue said,“It was important to me to be able tohelp the people in our community.”The 4th Annual Drive Away CancerGolf Outing will be held on Sunday,March 30 at Seven Springs Golf &Country Club.

Robert from Spring Hill said,“Thank you Millian-Aire for resolvingmy HVAC problems. We love our newTrane unit and the installers were great.Hope this one lasts another 24 years.See you in six months for our servicecheck up. I have already recommendedyour company to another.”

The U.S. Government’s Energywebsite, www.energy.gov, explains,“When buying an air conditioner, lookfor a model with a high efficiency.Central air conditioners are rated ac-cording to their seasonal energy effi-ciency ratio (SEER). SEER indicatesthe relative amount of energy neededto provide a specific cooling output. Many older systems have SEER rat-ings of 6 or less. The minimum SEER

allowed today is 13. Look for theENERGY STAR® label for central airconditioners with SEER ratings of 13or greater, but consider using air con-ditioning equipment with higherSEER ratings for greater savings.”

It can seem a bit overwhelming, but Millian-Aire can keep it simpleand affordable. Millian-Aire will helpyou get the temperature back whereit belongs, without you having tospend a million to do it. (Hey, youknew it was coming.)

Customer, Miguel, said, “I’mvery impressed with the quality ofthe work performed by the Millian-Aire Technician; his professionalism, punctuality – which is very importantto me – and his politeness. I’m prettysure I will make the Millian-Airefamily my ‘go-to’ company for anyand all AC problems.”

Since its opening in 2009,Bangkok Sushi has become a popularlocal favorite, and it should come asno surprise, for the people who cre-ated it did so as a labor of love – tak-ing their heritage, their commitment

to creating meals to order without tak-ing shortcuts, their decades of experi-ence from New York City to Miami–opening up their own restaurantright here in our backyard.

Offering lunch Monday throughFriday, and dinner seven days a week,Bangkok Sushi has an incredible menuthat ranges from sushi and seafood topopular dishes like Volcano Chicken,Crispy Duck and the popular BangkokSteak. Traditional curry, noodle andfried rice entrées also are favoritemenu choices at Bangkok Sushi.

One customer gushed, “My hus-band and I have been eating atBangkok Sushi for years. As self-pro-fessed ‘foodies’ we are very particularabout the restaurants we frequent. The food and the service have to beconsistently on-point to keep us com-ing back for more. Bangkok Sushi hasexcellent food - we’ve tried almosteverything on the menu and havenever had a complaint - and the serv-ice is always excellent.”

Bangkok Sushi is a breath of freshair, for when you walk in, the atmos-phere is fine dining. Think white linen

table cloths, black napkins folded intocrowns on each place setting, and ex-otic teak wood finishes on the walls.Golden statues, elegant art and excel-lent service add to the ambiance of therestaurant’s appeal, and this all magi-cally happens without coming off asstuffy or closed off. In fact, you’ll feelquite at home wearing casual clothesto the restaurant, but fresh rose oneach table is an example of their atten-tion to detail and their commitment toexcellence. So, whether you’re stop-

ping in after school with the kids on abusy evening, or going out for a specialdate, Bangkok Sushi hits all the marks.

eat, you won’t be able to resist. From traditional favorites like

California Rolls, Rainbow Rolls andTempura Rolls to some new and cre-ative dishes like the Sexy Man, theClearwater Roll, The Monster Rolland the Rock-n-Roll. Whatever wayyou like your sushi roll, you’ll appreci-ate that their menu is not only chockfull of options, but extremely clear onwhat’s in each one. This, for those ofyou who may be new to sushi, is al-ways important. (But be forewarned,in no time you’ll be going for thesashimi that you once scoffed at.) Es-pecially when the fish is as freshly pre-pared as it is at Bangkok Sushi.

Owner John Chieopanich, whoseexperience spans the globe, said, “We

serve the freshest food possible, and weknow how to wrap, keep and store thefish, keeping it clean all the waythrough the process––that’s a matter ofknow-how and experience.” He adds,“We take our time to prepare food theproper way, instead of the easy way. Wedon’t take any shortcuts.”

Thai Food: Sweet, Light, Healthy& Delicious

The Thai menu at Bangkok Sushiis jam-packed with appetizers, soups, salads, noodles, curry dishes, fried ricedishes and of course Chef’s Specials.Everyone who has been there seems tohave a favorite appetizer, although theirCurry Puffs, their Spring Rolls, theirEgg Rolls and their Thai-style Crab

Rangoon top the list most of the time.Soup options include wonton

soup, vegetable, rice, Tom Kha andTom Yum. There are eight differenttraditional Thai salads on the menu, although the majority of the itemshave either duck, seafood, beef, porkor chicken mixed in with the greens, making them excellent choices asmeals of their own.

One of the very best things aboutgoing to an authentic Thai restaurant, like Bangkok Sushi, is your ability tochoose what you’d like to eat and theway in which it is prepared, so let’s sayyou’re in the mood for somethingsweet and sour, well you have yourchoice of chicken, pork, beef, vegetableor tofu, and even shrimp, squid orseafood. All of these can be preparedusing their sweet and sour recipe, which includes being sautéed in toma-toes, cucumbers, pineapples, whiteonions and bell peppers and served insweet and sour tomato sauce. That’sjust an example, as most of the Thai en-trees offer that kind of flexibility.Bangkok Sushi’s children’s menu in-cludes chicken wings, chicken tempuraand fried ice cream for dessert.

Chieopanich says, “Thai food iscooked differently than other kinds offood, our technique is different, usesless oil. It’s lighter and not as heavy. That’s why Thai food has become sopopular during the last twenty years.”

Bangkok Sushi also offers a niceselection of wines as Chieopanich is abit of a wine connoisseur himself. There are beer selections from Ameri-can favorites to Japanese and Thaichoices, so next time you come, live alittle and have something nice to drinkwith your meal.

Besides the roses on the table andthe premier service and experience,Bangkok Sushi also offers a distinctlyThai dessert menu that shouldn’t bemissed. If you’re able to save anyroom, you’ll want to try the ThaiDonuts, Fried Banana with CoconutIce Cream, or Lychee Nuts on Ice.

Dan Hoagland said, “One of thetop Thai restaurants in the country. Ahidden gem! I grew up in NYC and thiswould be rated as an A+ restaurant.”

Bangkok Sushi is a very popularspot for take-out, especially because ofits convenient location. Chieopanichsays, “We have a lot of people whoorder before they leave the office, andpick up on their way home!”

Bangkok Sushi is located at16541 Pointe Village Drive, Suite101 in Lutz. Hours are 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m. on Mon. – Fri., 4–10 p.m.on Sat. and 4–9 p.m. on Sun. Since 2011, the FC TampaRangers Soccer Club has been steadilygrowing under the direction of ClubManager Mike Connell. Mike, who isa former soccer player for the TampaBay Rowdies, wanted to make surethat children grew up enjoying thegame and learning how to work to-gether as a team. “We have created avibrant, local community club for chil-dren 5 to 18 years old. We have arecreation league for children whowant to just play for fun and competi-tive teams that have become some ofthe top teams in Florida in just 3 years.Overall, we want this club to be forthe kids. We have created a positiveenvironment where our players lovecoming to the fields to see theirfriends, practice, and learn the funda-mentals of soccer. We teach them torespect the game and each other. Wewant to challenge our participants tobe better players and people.”

Since its opening, the FC TampaRangers Soccer Club has grown to 29different teams with more than 390

players. Mike sees the club having apositive effect not just on the childrenwho play but also on their communityas a whole. “My son Zach, has beenwith the club since it’s beginning inLutz,” says Michael Board. “At 8years old, it was his first exposure tosoccer, after having played football andbaseball at younger ages. It has beenimportant to me that he learns thegame the right way and develops hisskills under the guidance of a knowl-edgeable coach. In addition to build-ing a first class program, Mike Connellplaces passion for the game, develop-ment, honor, and respect as the keyvalues for all players in the club.Under Coach Connell’s watchful eye,Zach’s skills have flourished and histeam has enjoyed much success on thepitch. As a family, we are enjoying theexperience with a fantastic group ofyoung men and their families buildingfriendships that extend beyond thesoccer pitch.”

Carlos Flores has also been im-pressed by the skills his son has learnednot just for playing soccer but also forlife. “My son Ian Flores plays for the

Rangers U13 team, coached by SeanConiglio. After playing competitive soc-cer for the last 5 years in another team,we decided to play for the Rangers thisyear mainly because of the structureMike Connell has established in thisclub. There is a sense of pride and disci-pline mixed with a fun environment. My kid is learning from experiencedcoaches how to improve his soccer skills, but better yet, he is becoming an allaround good citizen. The Rangers or-ganization encourages their players tobe highly competitive while giving equal

importance to the sportsmanship andacademic factors. I really like that theyengage the kids in activities that benefitthe community, teaching them thatbeing an elite athlete means they have togive back. Can’t ask for anything betterfor my kid.”

“We are proud of our players andtheir families,” says Mike Connell.“We just wrapped up our competitiveseason and were overwhelmed withhow great our players did. Part of thereason our league is so successful is be-cause of the time our parents spend

volunteering and all of the wonderfulvolunteer coaches who inspire ourplayers. In just a short time, we arewell on our way to being the best soc-cer club in the area.”

Mike says they are able to keepfees affordable thanks to the club’ssponsors like Walgreens, Dau Ortho-dontics, MI Homes and TECO En-ergy. “We pride ourselves on havingthe best fields in the city,” says Mike.“We couldn’t do that without the helpof our volunteers and our sponsors.”

The parents of players are equallyas effusive about the Rangers. “Wow,

what can I say?” asks Alison Thornton.“We were at another club and wereasked to come look at the program bya friend/coach. We went to one prac-tice to watch and they had us at hello!Ultimately it was my daughter’s deci-sion she told me ‘I want to move tothe Rangers mommy, I want to be-come a better player.’ This year shehas learned better ball skills. We are sopleased with not only her progress butour son’s too. They both are ex-tremely happy at the Rangers. We arehere for the long haul.”
