“Most teenage drivers are shorton experience and long on confidence, which makes for a potentially danger-ous combination,” says GCS DrivingAcademy’s Professional DrivingCoach, George Csanadi. “As a parentthere is not question that a driving ed-ucation is one of the best things youcan give your teenager.”

GCS Driving Academy Ownerand Coach George Csanadi has morethan 20 years of experience as a per-formance driving coach, teaching skillsto drivers who own high performanceand exotic vehicles. After many yearsof experience as a racecar driver, coach, and instructor, he foundedGCS Driving Academy. Originally, themajority of his clientele included thosewho wanted to learn how to race carsprofessionally, including a 15-year-oldDanica Patrick back in 1996. In 2011,

George added teen driver training toGCS Driving Academy’s services. Thatfirst year, he coached 7 teenagers onhow to navigate busy Tampa Bayroadways and interstates. Happy par-ents started sharing their experienceswith GCS with friends, and every yearsince it started, GCS Driving Acad-emy’s teen driver training program hasgrown exponentially. Now, GeorgeCsanadi has successfully coached 350teen drivers.

George says the reason for thegrowth of the teen driving portion ofGCS is that parents absolutely love thecoaching and common sense road eti-quette that he provides. “Parents saythis is absolutely the best thing they’vedone. Most parents say they wish theyhad called me sooner.”

George Csanadi’s experience onthe racetrack gives him an undeniableedge when it comes to anticipatingwhat other drivers are going to do,

and this is one of the skills that he triesto teach students. George says, “I amanticipating what other drivers aregoing to do, not reacting to what theydo. That is the value in what I teach. Iam not a driving instructor. I am adriving coach. The scenarios that Iteach kids to handle will never comeup with a driving instructor.”

The driving conditions that teensface today are much different from the

ones we encountered when we werefirst learning to drive. There is moretraffic, more angry drivers, and morehazards everywhere they go. Driving afew hours around the neighborhoodor on an errand back and forth toPublix will not prepare your teendriver for the obstacles and distrac-tions they’ll face when they get behindthe wheel.

“These kids are having to get out

Thing They’ve Ever Done

Patrick's mom Donna learned how to better teach her son just by ridingalong and listening to George's coaching.

on highways going 70 miles perhour,” says George. “And I’ve hadparents say that they’d pay me any-thing when they see how I can teachtheir child to safely pass a semi-tractor-trailer on the interstate.”

George encourages parents to beinvolved. “Parents ride along 95% ofthe time. They ask, ‘do I need to bethere?’ and I say absolutely! There ismore coaching that is needed by theparent, so their participation is crucial.

Kids are supposed to have 50 hours ofdriving experience to get their licenseand they may give me ten, so who isgoing to teach them the other 40hours? It is going to have to be theparent. And parents tell me all thetime that they learn something whenthey ride with us.” He points out thathours of driving time should be varied.“I’ve had parents who say they’veworked with their kids for 20 hoursand they come here and don’t evenknow how to back out of the drive-way!” Teenagers need to be coachedto handle all types of roadways and tohandle many driving scenarios.

George adds, “GCS DrivingAcademy isn’t for everyone, but thoseparents who choose it justify the ex-pense.” Parents spend money ondance and music lessons, sports train-ing and special coaching to enrichtheir children’s lives, so it makes com-plete sense to spend money on coach-ing that can actually save their lives.

GCS Driving Academy is moneywell spent according to parents whohave used George to coach their chil-dren on driving.

“We honestly believe this is thebest gift we have ever given ourdaughter. We can’t thank you enough

for your expertise, patience, and pro-fessionalism,” said parents Mike andJulie Byrnes. “She is more confident,as are we, and she is even teaching us athing or two. We would highly recom-mend your teen driver training to anyparent of a new driver. The exposureto driving on all of the major highwaysand interstates is priceless. You sup-port and confidence has provided theawareness and skills necessary for Tea-gan to continue to be a safe driver.

“It is amazing that I have beendriving for 30 years yet I did not havethe ability to teach my own son todrive until you showed us what to payattention to. After our week of lessons,I took Patrick driving every day for 2hours,” says GCS Driving Academyclient and mother Donna Hoben. “Iused the techniques that you hadshowed him and practiced with conesand boxes in various places around thecity. I wouldn’t let anyone else takePatrick to practice driving because Iwanted to make sure he was correctlydoing all the things you showed him .. . and I wanted to make sure he wasnot falling into bad driving habits thatothers may show him. . . The lessonswere definitely worth any amount ofmoney.”

“You took Austin’s abilities andhis confidence to an unfathomablelevel. If someone had told me after just10 hours of driving, that my sonwould be driving around the airportarea, on the expressways, throughdowntown, and over the bridges toPinellas County, up to Brooksville andall around town, I would not have be-lieved it,” says GCS Client and motherLaurel Slade. “I believe your servicesare worth the money beyond whatwords can express. . . an investment inAustin’s safety, which he will carry withhim throughout the rest of his life.Thank you seems so trite, but thankyou. I truly believe that what Austinhas learned from you (things I didn’teven know myself) will save his life.”

The driving techniques and skillsthat your child learns now will protecthim or her for a lifetime. GeorgeCsanadi has the skills and talent tocoach your teen driver.

Whenever the Lutz Baseballfamilies travel to parks outside ofthe area to represent Lutz, theyalways see puzzled faces, experiencethe mispronunciation of Lutz(L-utz), and the question “where isLutz” is almost always inevitable. The Lutz Baseball 9U All-Starteam worked very hard to changeall of that.

It all started with the 9U AllStar District 13 Championship inFishhawk on June 10through13. The Lutz 9U Boyswon all of their games. Wins wereagainst North Brandon (20-10),East Bay (14-4), and Citrus Park(28-2). The boys met Citrus Parkagain and sealed the championshipwith a 6-0 win.

Their performance earnedthem the opportunity to representDistrict 13 in the Cal RipkenSouthern Florida Division Tourna-ment in Okeeheelee (just outsideof West Palm Beach) on June 23

through 26.The double elimination State

Tournament in Okeeheelee startedoff with a subpar game from theLutz Boys against a solid hostOkeeheelee team. The Lutz Boyscame out a little flat. Final scoreOkeeheelee 12, Lutz 8. This putthe Lutz Boys Baseball team on theropes and fighting for survival. One more loss and they were goinghome. Rather than give up, theseboys showed heart and determina-

tion and rattled off 4 wins in a rowin the sweltering South Floridaheat. The wins were against Naples(10-0), Oviedo (4-1), Ocala (9-2)and a revenge win against the hostOkeeheelee team (7-5). This setup a game against the strong PalmBeach Gardens team. The boysfought hard, but the well-restedPalm Beach Gardens team handedthe Lutz boys a defeat. Theseyoung 9U All Stars from Lutz

finished in second place in the StateTournament and earned a spot(should they want to advance) tothe Regional Championship inRoanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Due to these boys perform-ance, a few more folks now knowwhere Lutz is located and how topronounce it. Kudos to this groupof young men, the coaches, andtheir families that are behind them100 percent.

Dr. Jeremy Albert, DMD, MS,a specialist in orthodontics and dento-facial orthopedics, has had a privatepractice since 2003. Dr. Albert, anEast Lake High School Alum, earnedhis undergraduate and postgraduatedegrees from The University ofFlorida. Dr. Albert has been honoredwith numerous awards and he is amember of several dental associations.Parents and patients can feel confidentthat Dr. Albert provides the most cur-rent, effective orthodontic treatments.

The heart of Dr. Albert’s practicethough, is Dr. Albert himself. Hiscaring personality is upbeat while sin-cere, and he treats people who comeinto his offices like you treat friendscoming into your home. Dr. Albertis the sole orthodontist in the practice,so parents and patients know they willsee the same doctor every time.

Dr. Albert really makes a goodimpression on his patients, and notthe kind that requires a tray!

Hip Hip Hooray! No Impression Trays!

One of the most recent advance-ments in orthodontic treatments is theuse of the iTero intraoral scanner. Dr.Albert is one of the few orthodontistsin the area that uses the wand to scana patient’s mouth instead of usingtrays to create impressions. Thisdevice makes for a more comfortableexperience for all patients, but it is anespecially important advancement forpeople who suffer from a gag reflex. The scanner is used for appliances, expanders, Invisalign® and for diag-nostics. Patients can see the digitalscan of their teeth and how their bite

aligns or if they’re wearing down theirteeth unevenly. The iTero intraoralscanner even shows patients a simu-lated outcome of what their alignmentwill look like after they have finishedtheir treatment plan.

Dr. Albert says, “It is possibleto go through the whole treatmentwithout needing impressions. Wecan digitally send the scans to theto lab instead of sending impressionsthrough the mail, which makes theprocess quicker. The scans can alsobe used to create 3D printed Vivera®retainers, which provides four totalretainers for the patients.”

Not sure at what age childrenshould be evaluated? The AmericanAssociation of Orthodontists recom-mends that the initial orthodonticevaluation should occur at the firstsign of orthodontic problems or nolater than age 7. At this early age,

orthodontic treatment may not benecessary, but vigilant examinationcan anticipate the most advantageoustime to begin treatment.

Paying it Forward, Locally & Globally!

When you visit Albert FamilyOrthodontics’ Facebook page, or talkto their clients they are sure to men-tion the numerous contests Dr. Albertoffers.
