The 2014 Rosie Bowl was held on November 26th on the Tundra in the middle of ONU's campus. Rosie Bowl is an alumnae verses collegiate sisters flag football game in honor of our late sister,

Roselyn Derby, who passed away from adrenal cancer. Each year, sisters and alumnae come together to raise money for Rosie's family in her memory. We had our annual alumnae breakfast at the Zeta

house, and then we took it to the field to play some flag football. Twenty alumnae attended the event along with thirty current sisters. After a few games, there was a decision that alumnae and current

sisters both won the flag football game! The trophy went to the Zeta house to be displayed until next fall. We hope to continue this tradition for years to come to remember Rosie. She will always be a part

of our hearts and our sisterhood.

Every semester our sisters participate in an event called “Crockpot Tuesday.” This event takes place at the local Ada ReStore center. Anyone in the community can come in to have a nice home cooked meal for free every Tuesday, provided by the group that hosts that particular day. On our day we chose to serve chili, cornbread, crackers, and desert with the choice of coffee, water, or lemonade to drink. Twenty-two of our sisters participated in this event: from shopping for the supplies, to cooking, to prepping, serving, and cleanup. Our Delta Theta chapter will continue to keep this service event as a tradition for many years to come. We feel it is an important part of who we are as Zetas to “learn the nobility of serving”, and we will do whatever we can to help those on campus and in our community. The townspeople of Ada really enjoy us coming out and devoting our time to help the less fortunate of the community, and we appreciate the opportunity to lend a helping hand however we can!

We are so happy to announce a very successful Pink Month of 2014! We were able to raise over $1,500 in October for our philanthropy, Breast Cancer Awareness and Education. We held several different events throughout the month of October. Our first event was “Kiss Away Cancer”. ZTA sisters set up a booth for people to buy a paper lips for $1, write their name on it, and stick it on our kiss board to help us kiss away cancer. Our second event was a pink pasta dinner This event was a pasta buffet dinner held at The Inn at Ohio Northern University. All of the food and table linens for this event were donated to us by businesses in our community such as Sam’s Club, Community Market, GFS, and Miller’s Textile. Our last event of the month was pink bingo in which we co-partnered with the Student Planning Committee at ONU. Students, faculty, and community members were so great throughout the month of October, as they were very active and supportive in all of our events. We are so happy with the outcome of pink month this year and are looking forward to seeing pink month continue being a big success throughout the years to come.
