BAKİ BEY MANSIONThe house was built in the 17th century. It is a two storey and stone based house. The floors are wooden covered with

carpets. Stone stairs go upstairs. From the second floor, you can see the garden and veranda. The ceiling of the veranda has many different colours. Green and red colours are common. The main room is on the east side of the mansion and it is the best room. There are lots of different and great embellishments in the Mainroom. Patterns reflect that time’s plant

figures. The house is a great work from Ottoman Empire’s time.

It is one of the samples of Ottoman architecture in 17 th century. The two storey building’s first floor is Stone-based and the second floor is wooden and soil covered. Mainrom’s east wall is made of a special Stone found in the region. The building is located in the west of yard. There is a fountain under the stairs and is still used. At the ground floor of the house there are two big and a small room with arches. Stairs with wooden fence lead to second floor and there are a number of rooms at the South facade of a rectangular sofa. It has a kiosk in the northern side. The roof of the sofa is equipped with big and small, blue, red and green coloured triangles.

• In the west part of the sofa is located the mainroom. Mainroom has a lot of Windows to allow sunshine inside. It is the most fascinating room of the house together with wooden wardrobe and other colourful coverings. In the northern part the some part of the floor is heightened. At the entrance of the room along the wardrobe there is a narrow place for shoes. Lightening of the room is from two ways.

There are some writings in Arabic on the mirrors of Windows and wardrobe praising the owner of the mansion. The building has four other rooms facing the sofa. These room’s window provide sunlight fort he sofa. There is another main room in the west side with lots of embellishments characterizing traditional Turkish architecture.

EGYPTIANS’ HOUSE

It is located on the Oluklaraltı street and it was built in the 19 th century. This two storey house stands on a Stone base. The roof has alaturca tiles .The rooms to spend winter in are downstairs with the cellar. Upstairs rooms all meet a narrow sofa in the middle. Ceilings have wooden decorations. Lots of window let the light in. Mainroom’s ornaments and decoration are better than other rooms. Flower patterns can be seen on the ceilings.
