As Chris- tians, we experience this holiday differently because ours is not just a generalized thankfulness. Our appreciation is directed to our almighty provider, God. That’s an important distinction, and I pray that as you are sharing with your friends, families, and children, you will encourage them to point their joy to the Lord. I am thankful to God for providing our school with a community of parents who believe strongly in the idea of a Christian partnership with us in the training of their sons and daughters. I’m thankful for the strength that such commitment provides to us as we make sacrifices and do the hard work of bringing up the next generation of servants for the Kingdom. Happy Thanks- giving to all of you! City Team Food Drive Concludes Last week Thursday marked the end of our Food Drive for City Team Ministries, and all SJCS students attended the annual Thanks- giving Chapel to hear about how our gifts would be used. Mrs. Rhunda Boudreaux, head of City Team Family Services, spoke to our students about the thousands of Thanksgiving meals that City Team would provide to needy families in San Jose this week. Mrs. Boudreaux also noted that in the past 5 years, no single organization has donated more food to City Team’s Thanks- giving efforts than San Jose Christian School. What an amazing testimony to the caring community we have! Thank you all for your participation. This year, their efforts will culminate in a bene- fit night at Nordahl Hall in Los Gatos, and the Chamber has asked the SJCS Choir to perform at the event. We are excited to serve our community and share the love of Christ in this way, and we look forward to participating. The benefit night is sched- uled for Thursday, December 6 from 5pm – 8pm.
