a messagefrom the boardIt is with great pleasure that we, the STAR AquaCenter Board, present this important project which has been over 30 years in the making. Originally conceived in 1989, the idea for a community aquatics center in the Southampton area has been carried since then by dedicated project champions. We now find ourselves at the culmination of these efforts. In no other time in history have we been as close to making this dream a reality as we are right now.
With the efforts of our qualified project development partners, Counsilman-Hunsaker and Sports Facility Advisory, we have planned a beautiful facility that will support thousands of children, adults, and families every year. Our future space has been designed to serve a variety of activities, our programs imagined to create a sustainable not-for-profit business, and our hearts and minds are centered on the mission of serving our community.
There is just one component missing: you.
With the right community partners and donors, we can make this vision a reality. We are searching for special supporters who love the Southampton area and want to make a difference. People who are passionate about our community know that an aquatic facility can not only save lives, but also change lives.
We are proud to present to you this vision for a brighter, healthier, and safer community. A place that is truly unique. A place for everyone. We hope that you will thoughtfully consider joining the STAR AquaCenter team and building your community legacy.
With dedication,
The STAR AquaCenter Board

STAR AquaCentercommunity impact
An active lifestyle benefits overall health in a variety of ways. Consistent physical activity helps build healthy joints, muscles, and bones, as well as a healthy mind and improved cognitive ability. Studies have shown that many students engaged in physical activity show a 40% increase in test scores. Exercise is one of the least expensive ways to stay healthy and prevent chronic diseases, high blood pressure, and combat obesity.
Studies also show that kids who begin participation in sports at a young age are more likely to stay active as adults and have families that participate in regular physical activity.
