St. Louis de Mon ort Mission Statement We are called to be and to become a loving family centered in Jesus. We acknowledge and accept that each of us is unique and has special gi s from the Holy Spirit. We wish to nurture, develop and share these gi s within and for the Body of Christ. Having been called by Bap sm into that Body, We celebrate our rela onship in Word, Sacrament and Family Celebra on. We are then sent to call others to Christ through whom we are and what we do. We recognize Christ’s call to be one in Him and commit ourselves to his way of life.

Fr. Aidan Writes: We have reached the third Sunday of Advent; Rejoic-ing Sunday. This title, in Latin “Gaudete”, is taken from the Introit of the Mass, “Rejoice in the Lord al-ways, and again I say rejoice. Indeed the Lord is near”. (Shades of Fr Bede…!) Yes, only a couple days after next Sunday we will be celebrating the birth of our Lord, or as the commercial world would have it, only eight more shopping days…! Yes, we rejoice as we contemplate the nearness of Christ to us. It is one of the extraordinary things of our Catholic Christian faith that our God loved us so much that he wanted to be one with us. This occurs in no other religion in such a complete way; he is born, lives, loves and dies like us but then he rises. So the rejoicing we have is not just for the child Jesus in the crèche but also the prospect of our redemption through the death and rising of Christ. I want also to rejoice in you for your patience and kindness over the last two weeks with the stewardship campaign. It is an intrusion on the life of the liturgy but a necessary one in which we commit ourselves to the gift of the Emmanuel, the God who comes to walk with us. God bless all your preparations for Christmas. Fr A-P CJ

KEEP ‘EM SAFE Get your family on the same page about social media Social media is one of the leading forms of communi-cation and connection in our world today, but it has dangerous side effects if used carelessly or improperly. Social media platforms can be used to solicit minors, distribute drugs, share pornography and more. If your family does not have a social media safety policy in place, work to establish one immediately. Rules such as no direct messages from anyone you don’t know in person and no private or hidden contact with anyone are important. Establish regular check-ins to make sure that the rules are being followed to see what your chil-dren are viewing.
