Judgment Day Is Coming! Every Sunday when we pray the Creed, right after the homily, we solemnly profess our belief that Jesus "will come again to judge the living and the dead." The Church has never claimed to know when Judgment Day will come. It could be today, it could be one thousand years from now. Jesus himself told us that we can know "neither the day nor the hour." So if anyone ever comes knocking on your door to tell you the exact date, you can be sure that they are off track. However, the fact remains, Jesus is coming again to judge the living and the dead. That's when the battle between good and

evil will come to an end. On that day, as the first reading tells us, "the proud and the evil doers" will have "neither root nor branch." Evil will finally be made powerless. Those who have spent their lives battling against sin and injustice, living in friendship with Christ, will be completely freed from their last vestige of selfishness. They will finally experience the fullness of life that they always hoped for but could only experience in part while the battle still raged. "...For you who fear my name," the first reading continues, "there will arise the sun of justice with its healing rays." Judgment Day is coming. Jesus is coming again. There will be an end to the battle between good and evil, and good has already won on Easter Sunday!

We know this. God has revealed it. The vast majority of humankind, throughout history and even today, do not know this. For those who do not know or believe in Christ, the future is a dark and threatening mystery, but for us, it is a coming victory.

The tendency of popular culture today is to avoid thinking about the last things, the great truths like death and judgment. Popular culture tells us to enjoy ourselves while we can here on earth and not to worry about the bigger story. That is completely backwards. It's like telling a football player to enjoy his game by sitting on the sidelines and working on a suntan. A football player enjoys the game by playing hard and doing his best to win. He knows that the fourth quarter is right around the corner, and the clock is winding down, and the last minute will soon run out. When it does, when he makes his way into the locker room, sweaty, bruised, exhausted, he wants only two things: to know that he has won, and to know that he pushed himself as hard as he could to do his part well.

Jesus is reminding us that our lives are like that. They will come to an end. The fourth quarter is on its way, but there is a difference. A football player can give his all individually, and his team can still lose. On his way to the locker room he can be satisfied with his own performance, but disappointed at the outcome. However, that's not the case with us. If we play well, we win! If a Christian gives their all, if a Christian spends his life fighting to be more like Christ each day, in spite of hardship and persecution, in spite of opposition and enemies, then victory is assured.

Jesus revealed the future to us not to give us an excuse for laziness, but to give us motivation and courage to fight for what is true and good with all our might and all our love. Today, when we once again profess our faith in the future of his Kingdom, let's also renew our commitment to building it.

I continue to thank all of you for your continued hospitality and warmth you are showing me and each other. Please spread the good word of our wonderful parish and it is very nice to see more and more people coming back to worship God. Many of us are still saying how great it is to see our parishioner families returning back.

St Louis de Montfort, pray for us! Our Lady, Undoer of Knots, pray for us!

Have a great week and enjoy life with a great smile! Pray always!

The 8th grade students in Mrs. Lebensorger’s Social Studies class created presentations for Grades 3-7 about the Presidential Election. The students discussed what they believe are the most important issues facing the American people today. The 8th graders also determined how many Electoral College votes each class has based on the number of students in each class. This is the same way that our president gets elected. Students voted on Tuesday, November 8th for their presidential choice. Results will be in next weeks bulletin! As always, thank you for your continued support, Mrs. Wilson
