St. Louis de Mon ort Mission Statement We are called to be and to become a loving family centered in Jesus. We acknowledge and accept that each of us is unique and has special gi s from the Holy Spirit. We wish to nurture, develop and share these gi s within and for the Body of Christ. Having been called by Bap sm into that Body, We celebrate our rela onship in Word, Sacrament and Family Celebra on. We are then sent to call others to Christ through whom we are and what we do. We recognize Christ’s call to be one in Him and commit ourselves to his way of life.

Fr Aidan Peter writes: Well the Christmas Festivities draw to a close today with the Feast of the Epiph-any, when the Christ child is honored

and worshipped by the Three Magi. The Word made flesh is announced to the World; He is the God of all human-kind. The Gospels narrate that the three Magi did not go back to see Herod on their way home but “by a different way”. This not only means a different road but also with a completely changed outlook on life. Why so? Because they had encountered Emmanuel, the God who walks with us. They had been changed utterly by the experience. Let us dedicate ourselves to this Year of Mercy as it unfolds before us, taking advantages of all the graces being of-fered to us to encounter the Mercy of God. May we be-come ever more “merciful as our heavenly Father is mer-ciful”, “ slow to anger, full of compassion and rich in mer-cy”. Let out first reaction to anything and anyone be mer-cy and not judgement; “Judge not that you be not judged”. On a side note…have you broken your New Years’ Reso-lution yet!!!! God bless you and your families this Holy New Year Fr AP

DID YOU KNOW Common tricks strangers use to lure children Are you familiar with the news show segments testing children’s safety knowledge? They often feature “strangers” trying to lure children with of-fers of ice cream, modeling contracts, or other goodies. They know that while many children are taught to avoid strangers, they may not be taught to recognize abduction tactics. For more information on common tricks predators may use to lure chil-dren from The National Center for Missing & Ex-ploited Children, visit http://www.kidsmartz.org/CommonTricks.

¿SABIA USTED?

**************************************** OUR LADY IN THE FAMILY

Let us think of Our La-dy: Our Lady creates something in the Church that priests, bishops and popes cannot create. She is the authentic feminine genius. And let us think about Our Lady in the families---about what Our Lady does in an family. It

is clear that the presence of a woman in the do-mestic sphere is more necessary than ever, in-deed, for the transmission of sound moral princi-ples and for the transmission of the faith itself to future generations. From :Pope Francis Speaks to Families…Jan.25, 2014
