Holy Name Society Update

The HNS soldiers completed the Grotto Project punch list. The task was led by General Carm, with assistance from Sgt. Charlie, Wes, Al, Larry, Eric and Pvt. Fred and Jerry! The bricks should have been laid the week of the 20th, so as you read this there is a good chance you can walk over and see your brick! GOOD NEWS: Two parish families have reached out to HNS looking for help with some home pro-jects that we will hopefully be able to assist on. Our next meeting is this Tuesday, May 29th at 7:00 PM. For those who can make it earlier, we will be putting shelving together for preparation of our Spring Clean-up project taking place the first week of June.

Thursday, May 28th Catholic Charities’ Mobile Food Pantry is coming to your Community! Catholic Charities’ Mobile Food Pantry will be distributing food in the church parking lot on the date and location as listed below (rain or shine). Catholic Charities and the Northern Illinois Food Bank have partnered to deliver nutritious food (meat, produce and nonperishable items) to people in need. Participants are asked to bring bags, laundry baskets, boxes, carts or wagons to transport food and grocery prod-ucts through the line and back to their vehicles. A representative from Catholic Charities will be available at this event to explain additional services provided by the agency. You do not have to be Catholic to participate. Catho-lic Charities helps people of all faiths and beliefs. For more information about Catholic Charities, please visit catholiccharitiesjoliet.org. Food distribution begins at 10:00 am and will continue until 12 noon or whenever the food is gone, whichever comes first. Thursday May 28th.

BIKE PILGRIMAGE FROM CORPUS CHRISTI

TO DIVINE MERCY

Join Corpus Christi Church, 1415 W. Lies Road, in Carol Stream, on a 10 mile bike ride to Divine Mercy Church, 21W411 Sunset Ave., in Lombard on Saturday, July 14. We will begin with a blessing at Cor-pus Christi at 8:00 AM and then use the Great Western Trail and ride

to Divine Mercy. We will visit the church, pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and enjoy games and a picnic on their beautiful grounds before riding back to Corpus Christi. (The option to carpool back will be available.)

May 21, 2018 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, This year, Father’s Day is celebrated on June 17. There will be a special collection taken at Masses on June 16-17 to care for our infirmed and senior priests. The Fund for Diocesan Infirmed and Elderly Priests is a special way for the people of the Diocese of Joliet to express their concern for the welfare of those who have dedicated their lives in service to our pastoral care. The money in this fund goes toward priests who need help with extraordinary medical expenses or suffer a catastrophic illness. It also provides for the care of the St. John Vianney Villa, home to several senior priests in the Diocese of Joliet. Prayerfully consider making a donation to help our aged and sick priests as an expression of appreciation for all they have done in exemplifying Christ’s mercy, through their spiritual guidance and celebration of the sacraments. 2018 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal Goal Achieved!

Our Parish Target: $24,000. Thanks to those who have already responded with a gift or pledge to the 2018 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal. To date, $28,434 has been committed in gifts and pledges of which 22,419 has been collected. Please honor your pledges as the year goes on.
