Bishop Ryan Catholic School News

Donations for the Annual Bishop Ryan Santa Shop: Each year, Bishop Ryan hosts our Santa Shop as a fundraiser benefiting a local charity, this year, the Min-ot Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We’re looking for donations of new or gently-used items that you may find as you're cleaning out closets over the holiday weekend or during your Black Friday shopping! We're especially interested in new and gently used gift items for men, boys, and older siblings. Any new or gently-used gift items will be accepted. Please drop them off in the office at Bishop Ryan before December 6th.

Double The Blessings You Give with the TWICE BLESSED Campaign! You can help the Bishop Ryan After-School Strings Academy earn $10,000 through

the St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation’s TWICE BLESSED campaign. From November 15

through the end of December, every dollar donated at twiceblessednd.com will be matched, dollar for dollar,

up to $5,000. All TWICE BLESSED proceeds will benefit our After-School Strings Academy, a free pro-

gram for Bishop Ryan 3rd-8th graders interested in learning violin, viola or cello. Your donations will help

with instruments, music, and instruction. Thank you for helping to surround our students in beautiful music!

Lot-O-Dough Calendars are available for purchase for $25. More than 300 chances to win money in daily drawings held at Bishop Ryan from January through June. These make excellent Christmas gifts! Calendars are available after the weekend Masses, in parish offic-es, and in the Bishop Ryan business office.

Starting your Christmas Shopping? Use Scrip gift cards for purchases or as gifts. Many local businesses participate in the program, and many nationwide, also. (Our website: www.bishopryan.com has a national list). Shop at these business; pay with gift cards; they, in turn, support Bishop Ryan and families with rebates from the cards. Cards cost nothing extra. Purchase gift cards after the weekend Masses, in the office during the week and at Bishop Ryan.

TIME, TALENT, TREASURE November 25, 2018 Christ The King Sunday

Eucharistic Ministers Needed We need Lay Eucharistic Ministers to take Holy

Communion to St. John’s homebound parish-ioners. Please call Darcie, 839-7076, to offer your time and hands in this important spiritual

ministry.

Accompanist Needed We need an accompanist for the 10:30 Mass on Sun-

days. We practice Sundays before Mass. If you play keyboard or guitar, call Peggy Montgomery, 839-4019, or see her after

any weekend Mass. This is a paid position. We also need singers for all the weekend Masses.

Stewardship Thought Jesus asks us to demonstrate our love for Him through our generosity to others. In our everyday lives, He calls us to share our gifts of time, talent and treasure with others.

Jesus with no hands During a World War II bombing raid, a French (or German) village lost a beloved statue of Christ. The villagers painstakingly sifted through the rubble and managed to rebuild the statue, except for its hands. They searched and searched, but the pieces were never found. Finally, the villagers placed a plaque on the statue with the inscription from St. Teresa of Avila: I have no hands but yours.
