Using Microsoft Lync
Microsoft Lync is a program you install on your PC or Mac and enables you to send instant messages, share your computer screen, and conduct live meetings using your computer. To install Lync, click Install Lync from the portal home screen and follow the instructions. Lync runs in the background. PC Users: Depending on your computer’s settings, Lync can be found on the Taskbar or in the system tray located in the bottom right corner of your screen:
Mac Users: Lync can be found along with other open programs at the bottom of your screen or by clicking on Applications. By default, Microsoft Lync is set up to display the contacts available in your Outlook Global Address book.
Use the highlighted icon (right) to change how your contacts are displayed onscreen.
To send an email or instant message, add a person to your frequent contacts list or more, hover your mouse pointer over the contact’s name to reveal a list of options. (If necessary, click a contact’s name to reveal these options.)
