How MOMO Beats Estimates Amid the Severe Pressure from AuthorityOn Apr 29, MOMO’s successful dating app Tantan (China’s Tinder) was removed from app stores in China as a punishment for inappropriate content. It wasn’t allowed to be live again until July 14th. During the time when Tantan was mute, the app’s revenue dropped dramatically for Apple suspended all of its in-app purchase services and stops Tantan’s users from auto-renewing memberships. Tantan’s revenue from its in-app-purchases were close to zero for over two months from May to July. However, on the first week it went live again on the app store, the number of paying users of Tantan soon went up quickly by almost 50% compared to where it was 2 months ago.

Monitoring Netflix’s Retention Rate in BrazilIn the year of 2019, Netflix has to watch the arrival of Apple TV Plus, Disney Plus, WarnerMedia and more similar services, following its first biggest drop in subscriber numbers and stock. Even though the most recent 2-dollar-raise lost Netflix some US customers, it’s actually eyeing a bigger market outside its home base. According to Measurable AI’s email transactional data, Netflix’s customer retention in Brazil over the past 36 months showed that users in Brazil are extremely loyal. Over 60% of Brazilian users still subscribe to the service 2 years after joining. Compared to what we have for the other countries, Netflix’s long-term retention curve basically looks the same.
