As the Grand Knight I cannot express how great you are! In the lines above, I only menon the roll up your sleevestype support effort you have performed in the month of October. It goes beyond that work. The donaons you voted on at the monthly business meeng that supports Special Olympics and one of our local Special Olympians was tremendous. The only way we have the funds to offer that financial support is through your hard work. Finally, I know I have only listed the efforts that have been visible from inside and outside the Council, but I also want to thank the Brothers who support the Parish in the day to day running of St Mark (Parish Council, Food Pantry, RE Classes, etc…), and the weekly Liturgical Ministry. Believe me it does not go unnoced by Father Anthony, Deacons Mike and John, and many of our fellow parishioners. November will be another busy month with the Special Olympics being held on the first weekend in November ( a big council event), the Memorial Mass on 9 November, the State Soccer Challenge at BSCHS on 9 November, the final Kempsville Road Cleanup of the year on November 17 th followed by seng up the Christmas Tree Lot, unloading Christmas Trees and selling of trees starng around Thanksgiving. As always we, as a council, have a full plate and can always use the help. Remember, Many hands make the light work”. This is the advantage we as brother Knights have over many individual efforts. I would also like to welcome our two new Brothers, Henry Raines & James Barnes. Remember we walk in the spiritual path to holiness together! From the Grand Knight…

Brothers as we progress through this fraternal year your efforts in supporting your families, the parish, the community, and your brother Knights is exemplary. Just in the month of October you have supported the following charities, programs, and efforts: “Keeping Christ in Christmas” Christmas card sales (a fund raiser for the State Council and our local Council) that promotes a traditional method (sending Christmas Cards) of celebrating our Catholic and Christian traditions (3 brothers); supporting two brother K of C council (Fr Habit Casino Night – 1 brother) and Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School (1 brother) in their fund raising efforts; many of our Sir Knights and brothers of other degrees and their family members participating in the Eucharistic Procession at the Virginia Beach Ocean Front; being good stewards of our environment and assisting the City of Virginia Beach in keeping Kempsville Road clean (11 brothers or guests); supporting Deacon John in his continuing saga of improving the St. Mark’s building and grounds; and, finally, the council assisted St. Mark’s Feed Your Neighbor Program by cooking and serving the less fortunate at the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center (12 brothers or their spouses supported).

As the Grand Knight I cannot express how great you are! In the lines above, I only mention the “roll up your sleeves” type support effort you have performed in the month of October. It goes beyond that work. The donations you voted on at the monthly business meeting that supports Special Olympics and one of our local Special Olympians was tremendous. Believe me it does not go unnoticed by Father Anthony, Deacons Mike and John, and many of our fellow parishioners.

November will be another busy month with the Special Olympics being held on the first weekend in November ( a big council event), the Memorial Mass on 9 November, the State Soccer Challenge at BSCHS on 9 November, the final Kempsville Road Cleanup of the year on November 17th followed by setting up the Christmas Tree Lot, unloading Christmas Trees and selling of trees starting around Thanksgiving. As always we, as a council, have a full plate and can always use the help. Remember, “Many hands make the light work”. This is the advantage we as brother Knights have over many individual efforts.
