Today’s Scripture 33 rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Proverbs 31: 10-13, 19-20, 30-31 I Thessalonians 5:1-6 Matthew 25: 14-30 Those who live in the ways of the Lord will be blessed. Their lives will be fruitful and complete. In the early Church, there was a belief that Jesus would return in glory within a short while. St. Paul, in face, recommended to the Corinthians that they not get married because the end of the world was near. But when the end ofd the world failed to appear, peo- ple began to believe that maybe the return of Jesus would not happen immediately. Nevertheless, it was im- portant that people be ready for it whenever it might oc- cur. They began speaking of it occurring unannounced, like a thief in the night. They would not know when, but they always should be ready. We are the children of the light, and are to reject eve- rything that hints of the dark one and choose to live in the ways of the Lords. Mass Attendance/Collection Attending Mass November 7 & 8: 80 Weekends Collection: $ 3,883.00 Thanksgiving Baskets Anyone contributing a Thanks- giving Basket must please drop off their basket this week during the drop-off time slots: Wednes- day, November 18 between 9 AM and 4 PM; Friday, Novem- ber 20 from 6 PM to 9 PM. Bring them to the lower level. Distribution will begin at 9 AM on Saturday morning with a pray- er service in the Church. All are invited to par- ticipate in the service. If they are closed or after-school programs are canceled, all Church-related activities are canceled.
