Inside the South African Reserve Bank

S Goodson

sweeps aside the usual dust of economic theory to provide a thor-

oughly engaging account on the origins and purposes of the Repub-

lic’s central banking ins0tu0on. Goodson does so as an “outsider” on

the “inside,” a proponent of banking reform who became a non-

execu0ve director of the SA Reserve Bank. What Goodson found was

inep0tude, corrup0on, careerism, ignorance and scandal. When

Goodson became too troublesome for the status quo, he was re-

moved, smeared, and a5empts were made to legally silence him.

Here Goodson not only gives an account of his 0me within the SA

Reserve Bank, but places the bank within its

historical context, having been established as

part of a world-wide agenda orchestrated by

Montagu Norman, governor of the Bank of Eng-

land, to create “central banks” throughout the

world as part of a global financial sys-

tem controlled by interna0onal financiers.

Those who figured prominently in imposing this

fraudulent financial system on South Africa

were Jan Smuts, and his friend and adviser Hen-

ry Strakosch, whose closeness to Winston

Churchill is also shown to be of world historical significance. The only

voices raised in opposi0on to this decep0vely-named “central bank-

anything s0ll calling itself “Labour,” in South Africa as elsewhere.

A History of Central Banking

S. Goodson’s

companion volume to Inside the South African Reserve

Bank Its Origins and Secrets Exposed. While the la5er vol-

ume describes the mechanics of the fraudulent usury

banking system, with a focus on Goodson’s experiences as

a director of the SA Reserve Bank, this volume expands

the focus to encompass the role of banking and money in

history from ancient 0mes to the present.

The role of money-lenders in history was once aptly

termed by many acute observers as the “Hidden Hand.” It

is the power to create, lend and accumulate interest on

“credit,” and then re-lend that interest for further inter-

est, in perpetuity, that creates pervasive, worldwide debt,

from the individual, to the family, to the en0re state.

The ability to operate a fraudulent credit and loan system

has long been known, and through all the slickness of a

snake-oil salesman, the money-lenders – the same types

Jesus whipped from the Temple – have persuaded govern-

ments that banking is best le< to private interests. Many

wars, revolu0ons, depressions, recessions, and other so-

cial upheavals, have been directly related to the determi-

na0on of these money-lenders to retain and extend their

power and profits. When any state, individual or idea has

threatened their scam they have o<en responded with

wars and revolu0ons.

The cultural and material progress of a civiliza0on will

o<en relate to the degree by which it is free from the in-

fluence of debt, and the degrada0on that results when

the money-lenders are permi5ed to

regain power. Hence, Goodson

shows that both World Wars, the

Napoleonic wars, the American

Revolu0on, the rise and fall of

Julius Caesar, the overthrow of

Qathafi in Libya and the revolu-

0on against Tsar Nicholas, among

much else relate to this “Hidden

Hand” in history. This is the key to

understanding the past, present

and future.

Behind Communism

F.L.Bri&on

To understand the total problem of Com-

munism it is necessary that we trace the

course of the movement from it’s beginning

down to the present. We must understand

who it’s originators were, and what they

were, and we must gain some idea as to the

forces which influenced and shaped their phi-

losophy.

New edi0on! 128 p, SC, R 255 Truth for Germany

U.Walendy

This book, demonstra0ng in

concentrated format the

happenings arising from the

manifold connec0ons be-

fore the outbreak of the

war in Europe in 1939, can-

not be glibly brushed aside

with the reproach of being

“tenden0ous.”

“Tenden0ousness” always

presupposes unscien0fic and unscholarly work-

ings, at random, “intui0ve guesswork,”

“interpreta0on,” insufficient knowledge of

sources and the a5empt of imposing a

“biased” objec0ve. This book has been pub-

lished only a<er an intensive study of sources,

taking the greatest care to avoid all guesswork

interpreta0ons. It serves not any one par0cular

party, nor is it meant solely for the German

people; the aim, rather, is to contribute toward

a new understanding and cognizance for man-

kind.

A Spook’s Progress

M Spaarwater

From the 1960s, Maritz Spaarwater was an intelli-

gence agent for the South African government,

first for Military Intelligence and later for Na0on-

al Intelligence. In the late 1980s, he was among

the first to start official discussions overseas with

the exiled leadership of the ANC, and he became

involved in the nego0a0ons that led to the 1994

elec0on. This is his story. A Spook's Progress

plays out in a range of loca0ons, from army bases in Namibia to the

NIS offices in Pretoria, from the dusty streets of Freetown to the

luxury of Geneva. Threaded through the narra0ve are encounters

with people such as Sam Nujoma, Kenneth Kaunda, Niel Barnard,

Roelf Meyer, Chris Hani, Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma. An honest

depic0on of day-to-day life as a spy, the book delves into the rela-

0onship between intelligence agents and their poli0cal masters and

reveals their behind-the-scenes role in facilita0ng the transi0on. At

0mes serious, at 0mes ironic and sa0rical, A Spook's Progress is a

fascina0ng and frank account of an intelligence agent's life and

work, and his shi< from making war to making peace.

Chaplains in Conflict

highlights the dilemma produced by the

chaplain’s joint allegiance to both the army

The book’s extensive descrip0ons of the fauna and

flora of the area inspire the reader to consider the

impact that man has on his environment. Each of

the main plant and animal groups – trees, flowers,

birds, mammals, rep0les and insects – has a full

chapter devoted to it with checklists of every spe-

The second half of the book is dedicated to the

immensely rich human history of the Magaliesberg

and is equally comprehensive.

The Afrikaners their last great trek

G Leach

For South Africa the year 1988 was one of po-

li0cally charged anniversaries. It was 500 years

since the Portuguese explorer, Bartholomeu

Dias, became the first European to set foot on

the southern 0p of Africa. The ruling Na0onal

Party marked 40 years in power, while Presi-

dent P.W. Botha celebrated ten years as the

country's controversial leader. Most important

of all was the 150th anniversary of the Great

Trek, the heroic focal point in the history of the Afrikaners, the

white tribe that dominates South Africa.

Today the Afrikaners are embarked upon their final trek. It is a

journey to the very core of South Africa's racial problem; a jour-

ney which will determine whether this singular and stubborn

people can live side by side with their black fellow countrymen,

whose poli0cal aspira0ons they have so far thwarted.

The Siege of Southern Africa D. Reed

1. The history of South Africa, since shortly before the beginning of the Anglo-Boer

War in 1899, epitomizes the history of the world over the same period.

2. The world revolutionary movement which was to precipitate a century of conflict had

3. The Anglo-Boer War marked the beginning of the end of the British political imperi-
