    Q.8. What types of message exchanges (between which processors) are handled by MB?(4)

    1. GP CP2. GP CCNC

    3. GP GP4. SGC CP

    Q.9. For a 200-LTG exchange,How many MBGs will be required ? 2x2 (1)

    How many MBU:LTGs will be required ? 4x2 (1)

    Which MBU numbers will be given in the plane -0 of this exchange? (3)

    MBUL : 0-0, 0-1, 0-2, 0-3

    MBUS : 0-1, 0-1

    Q.10. How will you diagnose MBU:LTG ? (2)

    CONF MBUL : MB= , MBUL= , OST=MBL ;

    DIAG MBUL : MB= , MBUL= ;

    Q.11. In connection with Digit Transfer Report from LTG0-2 to LTG1-2., answer the followingquestions: (4)Which time slot is used on the SDC connecting LTG to the SN ? 0Which side of the SN will be used for the active message channel ? 0

    Which side of the MB will be used for the active message channel ? 0Which time slot is used on the SDC connecting SN and MB ? 4

    Q.12 In which unit will you find a SILCB module ? What is the function performed by it ? (3)GP It handles the exchange of messages with DLU/PA. It functions as an Input/ OutputProcessor. The transmission protocols are based on HDLC procedure. On the LTG side, theSILC completes the layer-2 functions of signaling protocol (synchronization, error detection,error handling) and thereby guarantees secure message exchange between peripheral units(DLU or ISDN PA) and the GP.

    Q.13. On which highway does the message information for LTGs go (3)

    (c) between MB and IOP:MB B:MBG

    Q.14 Which functional units in EWSD are connected to the IOP:MB ? (4)MBG, CCG,CCNC & SYP

    Q.15. One EWSD exchange is working with two BAPs and two IOCs. Because of increasein the BHCA two CAPs are being added in the exchange.

    How many additional PIA modules are required ? (2)

    Two (One for each BCMY)

    Q.16. One EWSD exchange is working with 120 LTGs. How many IOP:MBs will you findin the IOP0 and IOP1 shelves ? Eight (4+4) (2)

    This EWSD is expanded to add 120 more LTGs. How many additional IOP:MBs willbe required? Two (1+1) (2)

    Q.17. List out 3 differences in LTG (FN. B) and LTG (FN. C) (3)

    (i) Lines are connected on LTG (FN. B), Trunks are connected on LTG (FN. C).

    (ii) Load parameter for LTG (FN. B) is 12 or 52 whereas it is 13 for LTG (FN. C).(iii) CRPs are used for LTG (FN. B) whereas for LTG (FN. C) CRM or RM:CTC are

    used .

    Q.18. Which commands (parameter names not required) will be used to know (5)(i) the operational status of :

    DLU system STAT DLUDLU equipment STAT DLUEQDLU modules STAT DLUMODDLU subscribers line circuits STAT DLUPORT

    (ii) the LTGs to which the DLU is connected DISP DLU

    Q.19. (a) Name the modules of LTGM . Also indicate which functional units are integrated in them.(6)

    (i) DIU120A Four DIU30 and DCC or DIU LDIM Two DIU: LDIB and DCC(ii) GPL PU, MU, SIB, SMX, MCH or GPLS which contains modules of GPL and SILC(iii) GSMYAA Contains GS, LIU, GCG, TOG and 16 CRPC Circuits or

    (a) Number of TSGs = 4x2(b) Number of SSGs = 2x2(c) Number of MBGs = 2x2(d) Number of MBU:LTGs = 4x2(e) Number of MBU:SGCs = 2x2

    Q.21. What does COC stand for? What does it imply ? (3)Cross Office Check. After the path is through connected at the SN, the LIU of the callingLTG performs a cross-office check (COC) through the SN-halves. The purpose of the COCis to detect errors. In the COC, a test bit pattern from the LIU part of the LTG of the callingsubscriber is sent to the LTG of the called subscriber, where it is looped back and returnedto the sending LIU part. The LTG at this end compares the transmitted and received bitpatterns and, if they match, confirm that the existing connection will be used for transferringinformation.

    Q.22. Write down the equivalent modules for the old SN version : (10)

    TSMB = Two TSM plus Two LIL LISB = Two LIS

    SSM8B= Two SSM 8/15 plus Two LIS SGCB = SGC plus LIM

    SSM16B= Eight SSM16/16
