Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Feb 1: A meeting of the executive committee of Baba Amarnath & Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas which is an amalgam of different Socio- religious, Non-Political, Business & Trade organisa- tions, NGOs and Philanthropic Organizations, was held under the chairmanship of Surinder Mohan Aggarwal, President of BABA Yatri Niyas here today regarding the coming annual pilgrimage of Baba Shri Amarnath Ji. The meeting was called to discuss about the recent devel- opments regarding Amarnath Yatra 2014, which shall com- mence from June 28 and cul- minate on August 10 on Raksha Bandhan this year, as this year’s duration of the Yatra shall be of 44 days only, thereby SASB has reduced it further by 11 days than the pre- vious year, as the yatra was of 55 days in 2013. The other aspects discussed during the meeting included the arrangements to be made by SASB regarding the regis- trations of pilgrims, compulso- ry health certificate which has been made mandatory from last year’s Yatra and the revamped high security yatra permit as per the statement made by SASB which is hav- ing high security features for this year’s yatra of Shri Amarnath Ji. It was resolved in the meet- ing that, before taking any action, a general council meeting of all its associates will be called at the earliest so that their opinion is also taken about the duration and the other announcements made by SASB regarding the com- ing yatra of Shri Amarnath for 2014. It was also decided that another meeting will be organ- ised on February 3, in which representatives of associate Langar Organisations of BABA Yatri Niyas shall be invited to seek their opinion for making better arrange- ments for the coming yatra of Shri Amarnath Ji. The meeting, decided to put-up hoardings to welcome the delegates of The Indian Science Congress Association, who are visiting Jammu for the 11th Science Congress, which is going to be organised in the University of Jammu from February 3 to 7, an event which has been allotted to Jammu city, as for the first time in the 100 years history of this organisation, such a big event is going to be organised in a small city like Jammu. Prominent among those who were also present in the meeting included Rajesh Gupta, Onkar Sharma, Dineshwar Singh Jamwal, Anoop Aggarwal, Sudarshan Khajuria, Sham Langar, Varinder Jain, Ramnik Mahajan and Bal Kishan Gupta.
