know there are many causes I could rec-

mmend you stand up or, but Ive chosen

    imple and straight-orward one: Your

ealth! And to start, get off your chair

d read this while standing. Who knows,

aybe it will make it a better article.

d you know that all o the sitting we

throughout the day is detrimental tor health? You probably do. Now think

out all o the time most o us spend at

ork tethered to a desk and chair. Some

udies have suggested that doing so all

y is worse than smoking, and kills more

    ople than HIV every year.

fer reading a ew o these theories, Ive

mplemented a simple change in my own

ork style by making mysel a stand up

sk. I stand and work the majority o theme now, and in the past ew months, Ive

ticed a big improvement in mysel. You

ight want to try this yoursel or the New

    ar.

m sure youve seen stand up stations or

least heard o urniture along this line.

ven in passing you have probably seen

e commercial with the suited up execu-

ve using such a piece while working on

readmill. Sorry to disappoint, the onemade is not that cool. I already have a

sk and was not looking to spend mon-

on those ancy adjustable ones which

ould (space wise) require that I trash the

aditional one. Or what would happen i I

ally needed to switch back to the old one

r some reason? So, I went the DIY route

ing materials we had in the offi ce.

needs and amounts are dictated by anydietary restrictions you or your amilymay have as well as number o house-hold members and their ages. Check outthe recommendations suggested on theFEMA.gov website.

    4. Inormation. Even with iphones, tablets, computers, etc., youll need a portable,battery-operated radio or tv in case olong term power outages. Other devices

could run out o power and there wouldbe no way to recharge them. Affordableportables, especially radios, are widelyavailable and would suffi ce to keep you inthe loop during emergencies. Pick one upand remember where you put it!

    5. Other Power Source. Tis should be a nobrainer, but make sure you have a good

Te Elephant and the Blind Men

nce upon a time there lived six blind men

a village. One day the villagers told them,Tere is an elephant in the village today.

ey had no idea what an elephant was. Tecided that even though they would not bele to see it, they would go and eel it any-

ay. All o them went to where the elephantas. Every one o them touched the elephant.

Te elephant is a pillar, said the rst man

    ho touched his leg.

Oh no, its like a rope, said the second man

    ho touched the tail.

It is like a thick branch o a tree, said theman who touched the trunk.

It is like a big hand an, said the ourth manwho touched the ear.

It is like a huge wall, said the fh man who

    touched the belly.

It is like a solid pipe, said the sixth man whotouched the tusk o the elephant.Tey began to argue and every one o them

insisted he was right. Tey were getting more

and more agitated. A wise man walked byand he saw this. He stopped and asked themWhat is the matter? Tey said, We cannot

agree to what the elephant is like. And eachone o them told what he thought the animallooked like. Te wise man claimed to them,

All o you are right. Each is telling it differ-ently because each touched different parts.

Actually, the elephant has all o the eaturesyou said.

Tere was no more ght. Tey elt happy thatthey were all right.
