Construction/other CF continues to donate labor hours and employ Haitian nationals in

various construction projects. This is helping the local economy. Designed, constructed and oversaw the completion of a water tank

that is now servicing several families living in the ravines.

CF has designed and built a simple and cost effective latrine that is for families in the ravines. This is reducing the spread of disease

and vaginal infections.

Children’s programs included puppets, crafts, coloring ( adults

joined in – to assist with post-traumatic stress disorder – (PTSD)

Next Steps Continue building cost effective latrines and water tanks where

appropriate in the ravines.( ravines are in the valleys of the mountains that house the poorest of the poor ).

These tents are school to hundreds of children at Petionville camp. Here we did crafts and puppets with the children.

Are things improving in Haiti? Many schools have been open now since April and will stay open through the summer in an effort to salvage the school year. There are many more free health clinics available in Haiti than there were even prior to the earthquake. However, thousands of people still live in a tent. And so many homes still lay in rubble. Thousands of people suffer with post traumatic stress disorder. There still remains a high rate of unemployment and political unrest in Haiti but the people remain resilient and hopeful. They work very hard. The Haitian people are not looking for hand outs but rather a helping hand. Mary Samuels – VP Cornerstone Foundation
