From Our Board President

 May Club Report

I would like to thank Johnny Ellington and the entire board for our

successful second annual drawing. We raised $9,000 for improvement to our

course. Congratulations to the four winners, we had a fine dinner and lots of

fun. If you have not been to the club for a while you are in for big surprise. We

have finished several projects and have many more to come. T and his crew

started the rock around the car paths, and the mulch is done. We have taken out

the old bag stand and have a new one that really has improved the look of our

entrance.

Thanks to everyone who has given to Craig Hall and Holly Calvert. We have some great people at Colonial. I know they appreciate your generosity.

We have had two mowers break and need to be replaced and we have had to

replace and fix several things in our kitchen.

We are approximately $36,000 over budget year to date and our last dues

increase was over 4 years ago. Starting June first we will need to implement a

7% increase on all membership categories. Our board has tried everything to

avoid this increase ,but is necessary. Sorry for the news, we have to be responsi-

ble to our suppliers and the loan to the bank.

The summer is getting closer and we are underway getting the pool ready for the season. We will have an opening pool party on Friday, May 27th from 6:00 to 10:00pm. This will be for the whole family. The golf course is getting greener and T has been working hard getting the course ready for the season. With all the mulch going down and the river rock around some of the edges, the course is looking great. The Membership committee is continue to work hard at getting new Members in the Club, and as we all know this is the best time of year to join. If you know of someone that is interested in joining please have them give me a call at the Club. We are working on a lot of fun events over the next few months and we have a Member-Member/Member Mixer on Friday, May 13th that is going to be a fun time. We will have some pool events during the summer; such as movie nights, cookouts, late night swims, etc. Kim Dillard has been doing a great job at the tennis courts and he welcomes any feedback as to what Members are looking for. So feel free to stop by the courts and talk to him. Our goal is to build the tennis program over the next couple of years. I am excited about the upcoming season and hope to see everyone around the Club, whether on the golf course, tennis courts, pool or dining at the Club. You the Members are what makes Colonial special.

Thank you for all your support, David Lehman General Manager
