Mohair Capelet This pattern was inspired by one that Eileen Fisher offered during the Fall/Winter 2010 season. Materials Mohair, about 400 yards Size 17 29” circular needle Gauge In garter stitch, with yarn held doubled: 6.5 sts = 4” ,12 rows = 4” Instructions Holding the mohair doubled, cast on 80 stitches. Join into a round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Put in a marker at the beginning of the round. Knit 40 stitches, and put another marker to denote the halfway point. Knit 40 stitches to complete the first round. Purl 1 round. The pattern is simple: Knit 1 round. Purl 1 round. After you have worked 6 rows, you will start the decrease rounds. On every knit round, K2 together before each marker, until 46 sts remain. (17 decrease rounds total.) Work in pattern until piece measures 16” total. Cast off.
