Introduction
• What is Augmented Reality?
• Why is Augmented Reality fascinating?
Definition of Augmented Reality
• a computer technology that display and manipulate of 2D or 3D objects or multimedia or a movie to show up at the same time that the reality on the computer screen appears when the camera of the device which installs the software captures the marker or objects through Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) [1].
Why is Augmented Reality fascinating?
• Anyone, anytime, anywhere and anything,
• Ubiquitous computing, and
• A camera on mobile telephone.
AR & Virtual Reality (VR)
AR is the computer application manipulates digital info to be augmented in reality.
VR is when reality virtually augmented in the computer application.
Google insights for Search
• From 2009, people are interesting in AR rather than VR

The preferred type of AR 3D pop-up book
• AR 3D Pop-up book and 3D Pop-up book both – Present the same pop-up object– Play the same sound– Arrange in the same order
One product in two modes
Augmented Reality 3D Pop-up Book
Comparison of these two modes
Augmented Reality 3D Pop-up book
1. Need a web camera 1. No need of a web camera
2. Users see reality of the environment especially see themselves
2. Users see colorful background and objects which might add info to the course
3. Control book by moving a maker 3. Control by a mouse of a computer
Which modes did the students prefer?
• AR
• 3D pop-up book
• Or both
After 73 students studied
Results of Preferred Presentation of AR and 3D Pop-up Book
Conclusion
• The result of this research question reflects that both presentations of AR and 3D pop-up book are similarly preferred by the Grade Three students who have experienced participation in both media.
• The reason seemingly for this is both are innovations appropriately adapted to the age of the students. Further research to explore the issues is needed.
