CARL VAN HEERDEN - Senior Agronomist

Carl van Heerden holds a BScAgric degree from the University of Pretoria and is currently studying towards his Masters in Agricultural Science.

He has experience in vegetables, potatoes, maize and most other annual crops.His motto: “Everything happens for a reason.”


JACO THEART - Agronomist

Jaco Theart obtained a BScAgric degree in Plant Production and Soil Science, from the University of Stellenbosch.

He has experience of various disciplines in agronomy for grains, nuts and vegetables. His motto: “If you strive for perfection in your work, you will reach a point where you don’t have to introduce yourself anymore.”


CP VAN AARDT - Agronomist

CP van Aardt holds a BScAgric degree in Agronomy and Soil Science, from the University of the Free State.

He has experience in soil science and in the nutrition of sugar cane, vegetables, nuts, summer grains and a variety of subtropical crops. His motto: “Life is like a garden; dig it!”


ERIK DE VRIES - Agronomist and Horticulturalist

Erik de Vries has a BScAgric degree in Plant Production and Soil Science, from the University of Pretoria.

He has experience in soil science, precision farming and the nutrition of various crops.His motto: “If you think you are too small to make a difference, you’ve obviously never been in bed with a mosquito.”


MARNÉ DE VRIES - Soil Scientist and Horticulturalist

Marné de Vries obtained a BScAgric degree in Soil Science and Horticulture, from the University of Pretoria.

He has experience in soil classification and the nutrition of a variety of crops.His motto: “Soil is the building blocks to a farmer’s success.”


WILLEM EIGENHUIS - Agronomist & Horticulturalist

Willem Eigenhuis has a MScAgric in Horticulture from the University of Stellenbosch. He has over 20 years’ experience in agricultural production with various crops, soil science, precision farming and plant nutrition.His motto: “The Lord is my rock and strength, which makes my agricultural calling and passion in bondage to the blessing of my fellow man.”


STEYN VAN AARDT - Agronomist

Steyn van Aardt holds a BSc degree in Plant Production, Zoology and Microbiology from the North West University (Potchefstroom).

He has experience in citrus, potatoes, grains and most of the vegetable crops. His motto: “One does not always have to take what life gives you; but you sometimes have to take what you want.”


EVERT BERGH - Agronomist

Evert Bergh obtained his BSc degree in Geology, Microbiology and Soil Science from the North West University in Potchefstroom.

He previously worked as a microbiologist for a specialized fertilizer company. Evert also has experience in the growth of soil micro-organisms.His motto: “The only impossible journey is the one you never start.”

Johan Potgieter has a BScAgric degree in Soil Science and Horticulture, from the University of Stellenbosch and is currently completing his MScAgric degree in Greenhouse Crops.

He has experience as a Post-Harvest Technology and Production Assistant in Ceres.His motto: “Every Day Is a New Day”

NIEK GEERTS - Precision Farming Assistant

Niek Geerts has a BA degree in Humanities (Geography & History) from the University of Stellenbosch and also finished his Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.

He has experience as a Geography Teacher and currently supports all AT Horticulturists with ITEST and Growth Curves reports.His Motto: “Servitude Equals Richness”


CHRISTIAN DE KOCK - Precision Farming and GIS

Christian de Kock completed a Bachelors degree in Environment and Development from the University of Stellenbosch, as well as an Honours degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He also obtained a Masters degree in Geomatics from the University of Cape Town.

Christian has consulting experience in precision farming and GIS for all crops - he supports all Laeveld Agrochem agents nationwide on the technical aspects of precision farming and GIS.His motto: “Live each day like it’s your last.”


ZELDA EIGENHUIS - GIS Operator

Zelda Eigenhuis matriculated at Witteberg High School in Bethlehem and has a diploma in Public Relations from the UOFS Technicon.

She has 2 years’ experience in precision farming and GIS. Zelda currently supports the AT Website and assists the GIS team on the technical aspects of precision farming and GIS.Her motto: “If your foot slips, you can regain your balance … but if your tongue slips, you can never recall your word …”


ALWYN BRAND - GIS Operator

Alwyn Brand has a National Diploma in Agricultural Management from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, as well as a Professional Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from UNIGIS.

He has experience in different methods of field data collection and aerial survey projects.His motto: “Persistence triumphs.”


LANDOU KILLIAN - Precision Operational Manager

Landou Killian matriculated at HTS Vereeniging in 2009 . He previously worked as a Production Foreman at a chemical company and a Field Technician at an agricultural company. Landou has four years professional experience in crop production and has been working at Agri Technovation since 2014. He manages all fieldwork in the service department of Agri Technovation.His motto: “Days are measured in hectares not hours.”


ATHRI WILSON - Supporting Agriculturalist

Athri Wilson obtained a HonsBSc degree in Environmental Soil Science from the University of Pretoria .

She is currently doing her Masters in Soil Science at the University of Pretoria. Athri has experience in avocados, macadamias and mangoes.Her motto: “’n Boer Maak ’n Plan”


PIERRE-ANDRÉ RABIE - Agricultural Economist

Pierre-André has an MScAgric degree from the University of Stellenbosch.He has experience as an Agricultural Analyst and has a broad knowledge base of perennial crops.

Pierre-André is currently developing a new economic service to assist farmers in making more informed decisions.His motto: “The will to persevere is what makes the difference between failure & success.”


CRAIG SPITAELS - Agronomist

Craig David Spitaels has a BScAgric degree in Agronomy, Soil Science and Agricultural Engineering from the University of the Free State. He has a broad theoretical knowledge base of soil, water and plants and experience in lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, potatoes, table grapes and apples.His motto: “If you believe you have nothing more to learn, you are bound for failure.”


BRAAM VAN NIEKERK - Agronomist

Braam Van Niekerk obtained his BTechAgric degree in Crop Protection from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and is currently busy with his M.Tech Agric in Agricultural Ecology at NMMU.

He has experience as a Winemaker and Vineyard Assistant and as a Research and Development Technical Officer in Pesticides. In 2013 he also worked as a Technical Chemical Manager at an agricultural company.His motto: “Always Be a Better Person Than Yesterday”
