Although this remedy has been tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions, because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors, such as abnormal climatic- and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the weed against the remedy concerned, as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment, or harm to man or animal, or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned, due to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen, in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty.

RESISTANCE WARNING

For resistance management Focus® Ultra is a HRAC Group Code A herbicide. Any weed population, may contain individuals naturally resistant to Focus® Ultra and other Group Code A herbicides. These resistant individuals, can eventually dominate the weed population, if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds may not be controlled by Focus® Ultra, or any other Group Code A herbicides. To delay herbicide resistance:

· Avoid exclusive repeated use of herbicides, from the same Herbicide Group Code.

· Alternate, or tank mix, with products from different Herbicide Group Codes.

· Integrate control methods (chemical, cultural and biological), into weed control programmes.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USEONLYASDIRECTED

Mixing instructions:Halffillthetankwithcleanwater.MeasuretherequiredquantityofFocus® Ultra and pre-mixthiswithatleast10 lwater.Addthismixturetothewaterinthespraytankwhileagitatingthemixture.Fillthespraytankwithwaterwhilemaintainingagitationto ensure thorough mixing of the spray mixture before spraying commences.Maintainagitationduringthewholesprayingoperation.WhenFocus® Ultraistankmixedwithotherproducts,thenwhicheverproduct(s)beingusedshouldbeaddedtothewaterfirst,withFocus® Ultrabeingaddedlater,justbeforethetankistoppedup to reach the requiredvolume.Preparedspraymixturemustnotbe left in thespraytankforanylengthoftime,e.g.overnight.

Use restrictions:• ApplyFocus® Ultra only on actively growinggrassweeds.• Allow at least three days between aFocus® Ultra application and any other herbicidetreatment.

•Incaseswherefollow-upcropsaretobeplantedafterFocus® Ultra has been applied,thefollowingsafetyperiodshouldbeallowedbetweenapplicationandplanting:

Broadleafcrops:canbeplantedanytime. Grain-andgrasscrops:threeweeks.•Rain or irrigation within one hour after application of Focus® Ultra may necessitateasecondspray.

•Ensure thatcoverof theweedsby thecropdoesnot restrict theapplicationofFocus® Ultraontotheweeds.

APPLICATIONSGround application:Apply Focus® Ultra in 150 – 200 l water /ha.Use flat fan,hollowcone-or fullconenozzlesdelivering not more than 1,2 l spray mixture per minute at a pressure of 3 Bar (300 kPa). Apply at a pressure of at least 3 Bar (300 kPa). Ensurethatthesprayeriscorrectlycalibratedandthatthespraymixtureisevenlydistributedoverthetargetarea.Aerial application: Aerial application of Focus® Ultra, may only be done by a registered aerialapplicationoperatorusingacorrectly calibrated, registeredaircraft according totheinstructionsofSANSCode10118(AerialApplicationofAgriculturalPesticides).Ensurethatthespraymixtureisdistributedevenlyoverthetargetareaandthatthelossofspraymaterialduringapplicationisrestrictedtoaminimum.Itisthereforeessentialthatthefollowingcriteriabemet:

•Volume:Aspraymixturevolumeof30 l perhectare is recommended.As thisproducthasnotbeenevaluatedatareducedvolumerate,theregistrationholdercannotguaranteeefficacy,orbeheldresponsibleforanyadverseeffectsifthisproductisappliedaeriallyatalowervolumeratethanrecommendedabove.

•Droplet coverage:Thefollowingnumberofdropletspercm²mustberecoveredatthetargetarea:Post-emergent:35-45.

•Droplet size:Thefollowingdropletspectrumisrecommended:Post-emergent: VMDof 300 – 350micron. Limit the production of fine droplets less than 150micron(highdriftandevaporationpotential)toaminimum.

•Flying height:Maintaintheheightofthesprayboomat3-4metresabovethetarget.Donotspraywhenaircraftdives,isinaclimborwhenbanking.

•Usesuitableatomisingequipmentthatwillproducethedesireddropletsizeandcoverage,butwhichwillensuretheminimumlossofproduct.ThesprayingsystemmustproduceadropletspectrumwiththelowestpossibleRelativeSpan.

•Positionalltheatomiserswithintheinner60-75%ofthewingspantopreventdropletsfromenteringthewingtipvortices.

•Thedifferenceintemperaturebetweenthewetanddrybulbthermometers,ofawhirlinghygrometer,shouldnotexceed8°C.

•Stopsprayingifthewindspeedexceeds15km/h.•Stopsprayingunderturbulent,unstableanddryconditionsduringtheheatoftheday.

•Spraying under temperature inversion conditions (spraying in or above theinversion layer) and / or high humidity conditions (relative humidity 80% andabove)mayleadtothefollowing:

- reduced efficacy due to suspension and evaporation of small droplets in the air(inadequatecoverage).

-damagetoothersensitivecropsand/ornon-targetareasthroughdriftingof thesuspendedspraycloudawayfromthetargetfield.

•Ensurethattheaerialsprayoperatorknowsexactlywhichfieldstospray.•Obtainanassurancefromtheaerialsprayoperatorthattheaboverequirementswillbemetandthatrelevantdatawillbecompiledinalogbookandkeptforfuturereference.

It is recommended to increase the application rate as indicated for groundequipmentby10%.ApplyFocus® Ultra in a minimum of 30 l water/haandmakesurethatthecorrectamountofproductisevenlydistributedoverthetargetarea.

Application timing:Focus® Ultracanbeappliedoverthetopatanystageofthecrop,providedthatsafety periods as indicated under WARNINGS are adhered to. Ensure that thegrassweedsarenotbeyondthegrowthstageasindicatedintheAPPLICATION TABLE.

Row- and spot treatments:Focus® Ultracanalsobeappliedasarowtreatment,inwhichcasethedosagerateandsprayvolume/hashouldbeadaptedaccordingly.Incaseswhereonlypatchesin the field are infested with grass weeds, it is recommended to applyFocus® Ultraasaspottreatmentwithaknapsacksprayerasa2%Focus® Ultra solution 200 ml Focus® Ultra/10 l water).Acidity of spray mixture:Focus® UltranormallyperformsbetterwhenappliedinaslightlyacidspraymixturewithapHofabout4–5.ItisthereforeadvisabletoaddapH-buffersolution,e.g.Bladbuff‘5’,tothemixtureincaseswherethepHofthesprayingwaterishigherthantheindicatedoptimumvalue.RefertotheBladbuff‘5’labelformoredetails.

Allsprayapplicationsmustbemadewithsuitableequipment,thatisingoodworkingorder and correctly calibrated, to give the desired coverage for that particularmethodofapplication.

Focus® Ultra is ‘n HRAC Groepkode A onkruiddoder. Enige populasie van ‘n spesifieke onkruid, mag individue insluit, wat ‘n natuurlike weerstand teen Focus® Ultra, of enige ander Groepkode A onkruiddoders het. Indien hierdie onkruiddoders herhaaldelik aangewend word, kan die weerstandbiedende individue uiteindelik die onkruidpopulasie oorheers. Hierdie weerstandbiedende onkruide, sal waarskynlik nie deur Focus® Ultra, of enige ander Groepkode A onkruiddoders beheer word nie.
