    silvicola means woodland inhabitant

    Description:   mushroom

     Fruiting Body: cap 6­15 cm; stalk central, 7­15 cm long, 1­2 cm diameter. Spore Print Color: purplish brown. Spores: basidiospores 5­6.5 x 3­4.5 µm, ellipsoid, mooth, dark brown.

    Diagnostic macroscopic feature: white mushroom that stains yellow with KOH, with free gills that are dark brown when mature, with white stalk and annulus growing on ground in woods or wooded yards
