Page 3: ACHC Gala Program

Dear Guests,Welcome to ACHC’s 25th Anniversary Gala benefiting the American Dia-betes Association! It is a privilege to share this evening with you and I am thrilled that you are here. Tonight is a very special occasion for many dif-ferent reasons. As you are aware, 2011 is a monumental year for ACHC as we celebrate 25 years of service to the health care industry. Tonight is a time of reflection, of celebration, and appreciation as we remember and recognize all of the individuals who have helped ACHC stand where it is today. More importantly, tonight is about raising awareness, raising support, and raising hope. We are gathered here tonight to support an or-ganization that truly makes a difference in the lives of millions of Ameri-cans. We are here for the American Diabetes Association.

Diabetes affects over 25.8 million children and adults in America with an additional 79 million Americans suffering from pre-diabetes. In North Carolina alone there are 1.2 million people living with diabetes. The Cen-ters for Disease Control predicts that by 2050, 1 in 3 Americans will have diabetes. At this rate of exponential growth, diabetes will become one of the most prevalent diseases facing America.

As ACHC continues to inspire excellence through the betterment of the entire healthcare continuum, remember tonight and the disease that af-fects so many. It is an honor for our organization to contribute to the ADA in an effort to advance research and help impact the lives of many.

I want to personally thank every one of you for joining us tonight in cele-bration and for your support in the fight against diabetes. Without efforts from individuals like you, the American Diabetes Association would not have the foundation and support to make the difference that it does today. Enjoy your evening and make the night one to remember.

Sincerely,

Tom Cesar, President, ACHC
