Dear ALPFA Seattle Gala Attendees, Welcome to the 2016 ALPFA Seattle Gala Student Aid Fundraiser. After 44 years, ALPFA continues to evolve as we are confronted with constant political, and economic challenges around us. Today, the work that we do empowering and developing Latino men and women into leaders of character for the nation is more relevant than ever, and most importantly, necessary. Latinos are the new mainstream, and as such it is our responsibility to provide upcoming Latino and Latina leaders with the necessary skills that will position them to become a critical economic opportunity for this country. Our student members constitute 50% of our 80,000 members nationwide. A population that we serve through the efforts of our local chapters across the country, Regional Student Symposiums and the Annual ALPFA Convention. Our Annual Convention offers the opportunity for students to hone their skills as they prepare to enter the workforce, compete for scholarships, and network with Latino professionals and potential employers. For four days they have access to high caliber speakers and potential mentors, and are left with a sense of what it means to be part of the ALPFamilia. We thank you for participating in this event and for helping ALPFA Seattle raise funds to send students to the upcoming 2017 ALPFA Convention. We hope you enjoy the event.
