25 Years Fullfilling DreamsCommunities In Schools Dallas Region, Inc. (CISDR) began in 985 with three schools in the Dallas region. This year, we celebrate 25 years of serving Dallas’ at-risk youth on 75 campuses in ten school districts. In the last quarter century, CISDR has provided academic support and services to over 500,000 capable, but underachieving students in the Dallas Region, with significant results: 90% of our students stayed in school and all of our eligible high school seniors graduated.

During this milestone celebration, CISDR is especially privileged to have the support of Ebby Halliday, Lisa Chiaviello and Barbara Hunt Crow. As Honorary Chair of the Gala, Ebby offers her dynamic leadership and enthusiasm to this organization. Barbara Hunt Crow is graciously serving as Honorary Chair for the entire year’s birthday celebration. Barbara’s guidance and selfless spirit are inspirational. Lisa Chiaviello, the 200 Gala Chair, has been instrumental in making the Dream Big Gala a night to remember. Together these women provide strong and enthusiastic advocacy for Communities In Schools Dallas Region.

Page 12: 2010 "Dream Big" Gala Program

Item 1: A BBQ for ten at the Brinker family ranch with Mike Howard. Mr. Howard was with President Kennedy the morning prior to his assassination and was later assigned the unusual task of protecting the wife of Lee Harvey Oswald as well as his two children, his brother Robert, and his mother. He spent seven hair-raising days after the assassination hiding them out in a wooded area near the Inn of Six Flags.

Item 2: Whether you want to entertain corporate guests or a group of friends who love NASCAR – this one is for you! NASCAR fans, this is a dream opportunity. You get four Pit Passes to Texas Motor Speedway in November a meet and greet with Robert Richardson Jr. and tickets to the big race on Saturday. And here’s the kicker! The winning bidder gets to put their logo on the deck lid of Robert Richardson’s car! How about that for a NASCAR weekend?!

Item 3: Take a tour of a shoot for Bradley Whitford’s “The Good Guys,” a comedy-drama series about an old-school cop and a modern-day detective that is scheduled to premiere on Fox on May 19. The series stars Bradley Whitford as Dan Stark, a former big shot detective with the Dallas Police Department, and Colin Hanks as Jack Bailey, a young, ambitious, by-the-book detective who has been assigned as Dan's partner because of his snarky attitude.

Item 4: Feel like a celebrity with a special VIP tour of the Warner Bros. Pictures Studio with a behind the scenes look at various Warner Bros. television shows and movies. Wander down the back lot streets, peek inside the sound stages, make yourself at home on the sets and play around in the craft shops where some of the best films and television series in America are filmed. Two tickets on Southwest Airlines and a limo ride to and from the airport are provided.

Item 5: There is nothing better to a true connoisseur than drinking wine in Napa Valley. Get the VIP experience with a tour and tasting for six at renowned Grgich Hills estate in Napa with accompaniment by Violet Grgich. Two tickets on Southwest Airlines and a limo ride to and from the airport are provided. Includes a luxurious two-night stay in a deluxe room at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa.

Item 6: Experience one of the most beloved Disney classics live with four tickets to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, running from July 13 – 25 (excluding Saturday night). After the show, your family will get an exclusive backstage tour to have a first-hand experience behind the scenes of this amazing theatrical performance.

Item 7: Attend an event catered by Wendy Krispin for ten hosted at Sam Pack’s private Automotive Museum which houses some of the most eclectic antique, restorable, vintage, classic, racing, one-offs and celebrity-associated cars and trucks under one roof.

Item 8: Get away on this Orlando vacation at Bahama Bay Resort. With five days/four nights in three bedrooms, up to ten people will be able to enjoy this relaxing package that includes a WorldVentures membership.

Item 9: Turn heads with a two-day rental on a Bentley GT Coupe from Platinum Motorcars, channeling your inner Steve McQueen as you zoom around the streets of Dallas in style.

Item 0: Treat yourself and five friends or coworkers to a limo ride from the office of Alon USA. The destination? The exclusive La Cima Club, where you will personally experience the engaging – and, occasionally counterintuitive – business and technology perspectives of Alon USA CEO, Jeff Morris. Get a glimpse into the future of energy and transportation, while indulging in a delicious meal served in a setting of style. You may be thinking – pay to have lunch with Jeff Morris? Why would anyone want to do that??? Well, as an added incentive, Mr. Morris will match the winning bid with a personal contribution to CISDR, that’s why!

Item : Experience the latest vacation hotspot of the stars, Costa Rica in the lap of luxury at Los Sueños Costa Rica Golf and Marina (condo stay). Two lucky people will get the pleasure of spending four days and three nights at this premier resort, golfing amongst monkeys, picking delicious tropical fruit, swimming with the dolphins and basking in the hot Latin days and nights of this exotic tropical paradise.

Item 2: Gift her with these spectacular inside-out diamond hoop earrings featuring round diamonds (.00 cts total weight) set in 4k white gold. These exquisite diamond earrings sparkle from all angles making the lady in your life shine wherever she goes.

Item 3: Make Lady Gwenieve, a royally bred two-year-old Arabian Filly, yours. Celebrate with a trip to Kentucky for the races with a seven-night stay at Griffin Gate Villa. The dream package for any horse lover!

Item 4: Two people will steal away to sexy Negril, Jamaica and experience the finest things the city has to offer with five days and four nights at Grand Lido four-diamond all-inclusive resort. Play under waterfalls, go cliff diving or simply relax by the pool with a daiquiri. Melt your worries away; everything is taken care of.

Clive ChristianAlmost ten years have passed since Clive Christian, well-known for breathtaking interiors and in particular the chandelier kitchen, acquired one of the oldest perfumeries in Britain which was honoured by Queen Victoria in 872 when she granted the company the image of her crown. Clive Christian credits this move to his eldest daughter Victoria’s passion for perfume combined with his own relentless pursuit of timeless luxury and British excellence.

Inspired by the original values of the perfumery from the 800’s Clive Christian released a definitive collection of Pure Perfumes for men and for women of the highest quality - no colognes or eau de toilettes - that are now available exclusively in the most prestigious perfumeries around the World.

At the pinnacle of this definitive collection is ‘No. Perfume’, which as a conse-quence of the desire to create a perfume with no reference to cost or to limitations became The World’s Most Expensive Perfume, marking a moment in British perfume history which was to be recognized by the Guiness World Records.

Limited by the rarity of the precious ingredients within each ounce, such as aged Indian Sandalwood and crystallized Tahitian Vanilla, every bottle of No. Perfume is studded with a single brilliant cut diamond to symbolize the delicate facets of the complex perfume when worn on the skin.

In 2006 Clive released a limited edition bottle of No. Perfume named Imperial Majesty, cut in baccarat crystal, valued at over £00,000 and designed to celebrate every aspect of the No. World’s Most Expensive Perfume - prompting The Fragrance Foundation to award the first and only FiFi Award for Outstanding Perfume Presentation.

A unique bottle of No. Perfume was commissioned for Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee in the shape of a diamond-studded crystal tiara and the perfume has graced the gardens of Sir Elton John’s White Tie & Tiara Ball in honour of the Elton John Aids Foundation.

The future of the Company welcomes Clive’s translation of the invisible world of perfume through his designs, choosing the image of the diamond from every bottle of No. Perfume as the artwork to adorn the delicate silk handkerchiefs inside the perfume presentation and the silk lined interiors of precious leather handbags in Clive Christian Boutique.

For the second year in a row, Communities In Schools Dallas Region has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent evaluator of charities.

Ken Berger, President and CEO of Charity Navigator said, “Only 20% of the charities we rate have received at least two consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Communities In Schools Dallas Region consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This “exceptional” designation from Charity

Navigator differentiates Communities In Schools Dallas Region from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”

CISDR is only 1 of 210 educational nonprofits in the US and 1 of 8 in Texas to receive their highest rating.

WHITE HOUSE RECOGNIZES CIS AS MODEL PROGRAM

On Monday, March , 200, President Obama spoke to a group of national education leaders at an event sponsored by America's Promise Alliance, and he recognized Communities In Schools as a model program.

“Most high school dropouts in a recent study said the reason they dropped out was that they weren't interested in class and they weren't motivated to do their work. So that's why we'll build on the efforts of places like Communities In Schools that make sure kids who are at risk of dropping out have one-on-one support.”
