LocationThe Nyack, NY, residential campus is set on a hillside overlooking the Hudson Riverand the Tappan Zee Bridge, only 23 miles from New York City. It neighbors the Village of Nyack, a charming and secluded community known for its restaurants, antique and specialty shops. The campus consists of 65 acres and 31 college-ownedbuildings in a mix of Victorian and Tudor styles. Nearby are West Point, severalRevolutionary War historical sites, and recreational activities including hiking, skiing, skating, boating, golf, and tennis. The New York City campus is located at Broadway and Worth Streets in lower Manhattan. New York City offers the Empire State Building, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Chinatown, the Bronx Zoo, Carn-egie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center, Broadway shows and plays, eight major professional sports teams, the U.S. National Tennis Center, shopping, muse-ums, art, and culture.

Athletic AffiliationNyack College competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Central AtlanticCollegiate Conference (CACC). We also compete in the National Christian CollegeAthletic Association (NCCAA) at the Division I level.

HEAD COACH

JOE RODRIGUEZ

Joe Rodriguez begins his 4th season as head coach of the women’s softball program at Nyack College.

Outside of Nyack, Coach Rodriguez has spent over 20 years as a member of the PRIDE travel softball organization. An orga-nization that was recently inducted into the Rockland County Sports Hall of Fame. As a player and coach he has helped lead the PRIDE to numerous titles and has also competed against the Puerto Rican National Team as they were preparing to play in the Pan-Am games.

Outside of Softball, Coach Rodriguez serves as facility manager at Living Christ Church in South Nyack. Joe is married to his wife Mercy, and reside with their daughter Mercy-Ann in South Nyack.

DEE LEONEASSISTANT COACH

Danielle Palentchar begins her fourth year as an assistant coach for the Warriors’ softball program. Palentchar played for Nyack from the 2004-2008 seasons and also won the “Iron Man” award for her physical dedica-tion.

She graduated from Nyack with a degree in Elementary Education in 2008 and is currently completing her master’s degree in business admin-istration with an emphasis in finance.

Dee Leone begins her third year as an assistant coach for the Warriors.

Prior to arriving at Nyack, Leone worked as an official for softball and field hockey for the past 15 years.

Outside of softball, Leone teaches in the Nyack College Physical Education Department.
